Just a few hours from Portugal's capital city, Sintra is a magical place where man and nature exist in perfect harmony. Discover secret trails at Pena Park, admire the natural wonders of Sintra Natural Park and the cliffs of Roca Cape, and visit the whimsical Pena National Palace. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, and stop at Cascais Beach. Walk around Cascais town and bay.

Meeting Point

Please meet our guide in front of the Hard Rock Cafe. Most of the times the guide will park the vehicle in a underground parking lot, so don't worry if you don't see any vehicles approaching.

What To Expect

1. Park and National Palace of Pena Start your tour with the journey to Sintra. Visit Pena Park, where you will be amazed by the variety of trails, trees and other plants. Next, feel like Portuguese royalty as you enter the romantic Pena National Palace at the top of Sintra Mountain. See the Great Triton, the guardian of the palace, inspired by Manueline art. Inside the palace, admire the attention to detail in the bedrooms of the king and queen and the Arab Room. 2 hours

2. Centro Historico de Sintra Leave the palace and follow your guide to the historical center of Sintra, where you’ll have free time to explore the town, you can visit the Sintra National Palace on your own, where the Portuguese royalty of the 15th and 16th centuries used to spend the summer months (own expense) or have a drink and a snack (own expense). Try a travesseiro or a queijada, two delicious local pastries. 1 hour

3. Cabo da Roca Next, admire the landscape of Sintra Natural Park on the way to the next stop. Enjoy a photo opportunity at the cliffs of Roca Cape (Cabo da Roca), the westernmost point of Europe. 30 minutes

4. Guincho Beach Pass by the surfer's paradise of Guincho Beach.

5. Boca do Inferno Pass the cliff at Hell’s Mouth (Boca do Inferno), before stopping to stretch your legs along Cascais’ bay.

6. Centro Historico de Cascais Free time for lunch and to wander around the centre of Cascais, a former fishing village and today a popular holiday spot. Follow your guide through narrow alleyways and see the traditional Portuguese white houses or enjoy some time relaxing at the beach. 1 hour 30 minutes

7. Casino Estoril On the drive back to Lisbon where your tour concludes, soak up the scenic views along the Atlantic coast and in the town of Estoril.

Our guide made the trip memorable. It was a challenging day… rain and fog made Sintra tough. Miguel gave us a wonderful idea of the history and ambience of the palace and Sintra. He is a gem!

Sintra was amazing and the castle was beautiful! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and captivating. I was disappointed that we went to Caiscas so early in the morning when no shops were open.

Every second of this day-trip was absolutely stunning… did we have perfectly sunny weather? No. Did we have a phenomenal guide in Andréa? YES! While the clouds & light rain made for a mystical adventure through Sintra & the Palace de Pena, it was truly Andréa who made the trip remarkable. His love for his country & passion for sharing the rich history was above & beyond - he was a delightful guide & a wonderful host to our entire group. If you’re lucky enough to go to the village of Sintra with Andréa, be sure to heed his advice for stops within the alleys of the enchanting town! Thank you for a magical experience!

Tour started on time exactly as planned from Hard Rock Cafe. Van was clean and comfortable. Guide Ines is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. She kept our tour upbeat even in the rain and fog. Sintra Castle is worth a visit. Cascais is a lovely location but what we saw was packed with tourists and not really worth a special trip
