Overview

Only tour in Sintra with guided tour inside the main monuments in the same day: Palace of Pena and Quinta da Regaleira. We will visit Serra de Sintra or Mons Lunae as the Romans used to say. At Monte da Lua, mysticism persists to this day. We'll start with a guided tour of an authentic fairytale palace, Palace of Pena. Then, we will explore the narrow streets of vila de Sintra and give you free time to have lunch and try the typical sweets of the region (travesseiro) in the famous pastry shop "Piriquita". After lunch, we'll head to Quinta da Regaleira where we'll take a guided tour of the Initiatic Well and learn about the history behind its exotic gardens, enigmatic caves and Masonic architecture. With a privileged view over the Atlantic Coast, the floodplains and Serra de Sintra, the millenary Castelo dos Mouros, founded by Muslims, occupied a fundamental strategic position in the defense of the local territory and maritime access to the city of Lisbon.
Park and National Palace of Pena

We take you to the top of the Sintra mountain range to visit the interior of the Pena Palace, the greatest exponent of 19th century romanticism in Portugal. Main attraction of the Sintra Tour.

The grandiose and magnificent palace where the heart of Sintra beats. Journey through a thousand years of history in the oldest palace in Portugal.
Quinta da Regaleira

House of a Lord who belonged to the Freemasons with its enigmatic garden and even an Initiatory Well, an inverted tower almost 30 meters deep with exits through caves. Magical and unforgettable.

The weather in Sintra is...

The weather in Sintra is colder and foggier than Lisbon on any given day. So even if it’s warm in Lisbon take a jacket for Sintra. The Pena Palace is a must and have lunch in the town.

We were the only people to book this small group tour and instead of canceling us Caiscas Tours gave us a private tour of Sintra and Cabo da Roca. Our tour guide was lovely and knowledgeable skirting us around the crowds and giving us special insight. I highly recommend this tour company and tour.

There is no way that we could have covered as much ground or known how to avoid the crowds without our knowledgeable tour guide. She pointed us in the direction of a lovely traditional Portuguese restaurant in town and showed us where to get the best cappuccino in Sintra. I highly recommend this tour with Cascais Tours.
