Overview

Chacchoben Mayan Ruins is the most popular and visited attraction for a day in Costa Maya. It is approximately 50 minutes drive from Costa Maya Port. This site is just a few kilometers from the village of Chacchoben from which it's name derive. The translation of the Mayan word "Chacchoben" refers to "The Place Of The Red Corn". The structures at this site are characterized by large temples and massive platforms dated from 700 AD.

Our excursions start 30 minutes or an hour after your ship docks. The meeting point is in the parking lot of the port, where the yellow taxis and red golf carts are located. There we have transportation with our logo(Toucan Tours) on them and one of our drivers can take ... you directly to our office. Our office is located one block from the port exit on the left side of the Mayan temple. Our waiting time after your check in is 15 to 25 minutes to leave for your tour. Read more ā–¼

After disembarking your ship proceed to find the main exit. There we have transportation with our logo on them and one of our drivers can take you to our office. Oh, if you like, you can go directly to our office. We are located one block from the port exit on the left side of the Mayan temple.

Este lugar que cobra vida cuando los cruceros arriban al puerto Costa Maya. Mahahual es de los mejores destinos de todo el Caribe Mexicano para practicar snorkel y buceo, ya que frente a sus costas se encuentra el arrecife Mesoamericano, que es la segunda barrera de coral mas larga del mundo. Las playas de Mahahual son de las mas extensas en el Caribe Mexicano, con interminables kilĆ³metros de blanca arena, palmeras y un mar de tono azul turquesa con oleaje casi imperceptible por el arrecife llamado "banco chinchorro" que actĆŗa como rompeolas. Sus aguas cĆ”lidas, son una invitaciĆ³n a pasearse todo el dĆ­a nadando, recorrer el boulevard que esta lleno de tiendas para comprar souvenirs o simplemente relajarte y disfrutar los masajes frente al mar y probar los autĆ©nticos platillos de la gastronomĆ­a mexicana.

Amazing experience! Late to writing this review but went with my 3 daughters (single mom) and tour was amazing. Views were impeccable and just enough talking to keep kids engaged (20, 18, 16).

My family enjoyed the Mayan tour. Toucan Tours took great care of us. Gabriella our guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and super helpful. I recommend this tour cheaper than the cruise excursion price.

Outstanding excursion. Nino was an excellent guide, sharing details about the ruins and also ensuring everyone was comfortable. Donā€™t skip the visit to the beach. They provide lounge chairs and shaded areas near the water.
