Bacalar is one of our favorite places!. As soon as your cruiseship arrives to Costa Maya Port, take part of our adventure at the Seven Color Lagoon or Bacalar. A famous old haven for pirates where now you can relax, swim or enjoy a kayak ride in the refreshing waters of the seven color lagoon. This experience take place in the second largest lagoon in Mexico that offers magnificent shades of blue on sunny days. Join our amazing kayak tour to the springs and creeks of the Seven Color Lagoon and take a short hike through the jungle. The place is perfect for kayaking and swimming or simply relax eating some delicious fajitas with your favorite drink at the edge of the lagoon enjoying the breeze and incredible landscape. Bacalar is definitely a must if you are at Costa Maya! We recommend this tour if you are an adventurer or just looking to relax away of the crowds.

Beautiful, clean water

Great day and beautiful water. Tour operators had to move the location due to flooding at original location. They offered us 3 choices. Upgrade at no extra fee to a pontoon boat ride to see different parts of the lagoon and 2 swim stops. It also included lunch and drinks like the original. This is what we choose. Our tour guide and driver were both great. The boat ride was fun. Water was crystal clear and beautiful. We had fun swimming and enjoying some beverages. Then back to the launch area for a taco lunch and mixed adult beverages before heading back to port.

Laid-back

Alan, our tour guide was excellent! It was a pretty laid-back trip and that is what we wanted. We were able to kayak in the Lagoon ( the lagoon is a big lake ). I thought we were going to kayak into some smaller bays, but I must have misread the tour information. We spent about an hour on the water and then headed back for some tacos and swam in the beach area. It was a beautiful day which obviously helped with this experience for my wife and I.

7 colors Lagoon

Fabulous Day, checking out Ruins and then snorkeling the 7 colors lagoon. Unfortunately the 7 colors were of brown instead of blue as we hit a nice rain storm and no sun. We still canoed the Lagoon and had fun. Alan, Eric & Pedro were our team of driver and Tour guides. They were great.

The trip was very nice. The resort we went to was better than I have expected. The lagoon at the time we visited was not 7 colors, the guide explained that was because of the recent rain. That is understandable. Overall the trip was very enjoyable.

The beach resort was gorgeous and peaceful. Lunch and drinks were good and Alan and Alberto were great guides.
