Ben was great!

Published on Dec, 2024

AMAZING experience! Ben, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable about both historical and modern Kyoto / Japan. It was very engaging and fun, with stops in between, so not tiring. We went to many touristy and lesser known spots, with tips to navigate. Would strongly recommend doing this the first day you arrive in kyoto. It was cold and I was not properly dressed (kimono), and Ben lent me his jacket too, which is so sweet and I was able to do the tour comfortably. If anyone plans to wear kimono for the walking tour (because why not) and take advantage of the photo ops, please dress extra warmly as it gets colder in the afternoon and you won't be walking in the sun the whole time. Wish I tipped more!

We covered a lot of places, shrines, and temples in just one tour. Every spot was beautiful and along the way the tour guide told us a lot about the history, fun facts, and interesting stories. I learnt a lot about the places we visited and also about Kyoto.

Learned so much. Beautiful places

The Kyoto walking tour was an absolute delight! Our guide expertly navigated us through the cityā€™s charming streets, sharing captivating stories about its history and culture. We visited iconic spots like Kiyomizu Temple and the Gion district, where we even caught a glimpse of a geisha. The blend of ancient temples, traditional wooden houses, and serene gardens made every step fascinating. Walking allowed us to soak in the beauty and atmosphere of Kyoto at our own pace. Itā€™s the perfect way to experience the cityā€™s timeless charm while learning about its rich heritage. Highly recommended.

We had a great tour of the Gion area with the wonderful Hana as our guide. She spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable and informative on all aspects of Kyoto life. She's very affable and personable and made the hours go by very quickly. We would thoroughly recommend this tour as there is no substitute for gaining the insights from a local guide.
