In this tour, we start early to beat the crowds! Excellent Morning Tour

Our tour guide, Yukina,was wonderful! We got lost in the kyoto station and she was flexible and found us. She was also knowledgeable about the cultural significance of the various shrines and temples and her own perspective was great too. The tour lasted about 4 hours which was perfect to giving us an early morning primer before exploring Kyoto on our own the rest of the day.

Overall, I had a great experience seeing my top 3 sites of Kyoto with Mao as my guide. Considering the meetup time of 6:45 AM, I was able to enjoy the sites without them being fully packed with other tourists. Mao was very knowledgable, shared thorough information throughout the morning and very pleasant. At the end of the tour, I shared with her I still needed to buy souvenirs before leaving Kyoto so she stayed with me a bit, showed me around Kyoto station where I could buy popular, authentic Kyoto souvenirs and ones she personally buys for others when going on a trip herself. Top 3 main sites visited, ease of navigation/transport with guide and pleasant company. I would recommend!

WOW, this tour was incredible. Taira was our tour guide and went above and beyond to show us a good time. We learned so much history and he pointed out all the best photo ops. It was well worth the early start time to beat the crowds at our first destination (Fushimi Gates) - we practically had them to ourselves. Additionally, we toured during peak fall leaf season and Taira extended our tour so that we could see a few stunning views off the beaten path. We made some new friends and left the day so happy. Donā€™t miss out on this tour!

Highly recommend this tour - you can find out much more in 5 hours with a guide than you would over 2 days of sightseeing on your own. My guide Karen was terrific, personable, efficient and fun. From her first message which spelt out clearly where we would meet and what I needed to bring, to a quick stop to eat delicious glazed sweet potato outside the bamboo forest, she made the trip around Kyotoā€™s highlights a memorable experience. I learned so much about the historic sites and life in Kyoto and she knew where to take the best photos!
