Overview

1. With Mt. Arashiyama as the backdrop, take a walk through the Sagano Bamboo Grove accompanied by a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter. 2. Enjoy the ever-popular Arashiyama which offers different scenery every season, be it the cherry blossoms of spring, the fresh greens of summer, the colored leaves of autumn, or the snowy scenescapes of winter. 3. Behold the beautiful garden in Tenryuji, a World Heritage Site considered as one of Kyoto's best Zen temples. 4. Revel in panoramic views of Kyoto City from Jojakko-ji Temple, renowned for its beautiful scenery of colorful leaves in autumn and green blankets of moss in summer. 5. Take in the scenery of Togetsukyo Bridge and Arashiyama from aboard a yakatabune.

    (JR Rapid/Local, non-reserved seating)

  • Jojakkoji Temple

    This temple overlooks the town of Sagano and the city of Kyoto. The area is famous for its beautiful scenery when the colored leaves cover the mountain in autumn. During summertime (July 2 - September 22), instead of Jojako-ji, explore the exquisite Okochi Sanso Villa Garden, featuring beautiful landscapes.

  • Sagano Bamboo Grove (Pass By)

    From Jojakko-ji Temple, the tour will be heading to Tenryu-ji Temple while strolling along the Sagano Bamboo Grove, a popular spot among international travelers.

  • Togetsukyo Bridge

    This 250-meter-long bridge offers a spectacular location for viewing cherry blossoms or colored autumn leaves. Enjoy the scenery of Togetsukyo Bridge and Arashiyama from aboard the yakatabune. The guide will not board the yakatabune. During summertime (July 2 - September 22), the "yakatabune" boat cruise is excluded from this period.

    A World Heritage site. This Zen temple stands in one of Kyoto's leading sightseeing areas. The Japanese garden is complemented by the beautiful landscapes of Arashiyama, and has been registered as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty.

Bamboo forest tour

Great tour. Sachiko was our guide - very informative and easy to understand. She gave a good with information on what we were seeing but also included personal stories and insights. We chose to go to the monkey park at the end of the tour instead of heading back with the group. She made sure to give us directions to the park as well as lunch options.

Our guide Jun, was very knowledgeable and interesting. I enjoyed walking through the bamboo forest and visiting the temples. I would recommend this tour, though it was very hot in August 2023.

The stroll through the bamboo grove was amazing and our walk by the riverside afterwards was very pleasant. Well worth the visit

Fresh, Clean & Green

Itā€™s really fresh atmosphere, bamboo trees are green, but may bot green as photo on google. We are enjoyable to walk and sightseeing and taking photos. But some nice streets are banned to come in. We have to go on the main street only.
