  • Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine

    The beautiful tunnel of thousands of vermilion torii gates is so famous and picturesque. These torii gates are offered by worshippers in appreciation for the good fortune they received from the deity enshrined here. Why don’t you, too, offer a prayer and change your luck?

  • Kinkakuji Temple

    This famous Zen temple is an icon of Samurai culture. You enter this venerated temple right after it opens in the morning, when few people visit. At this hour it is possible to get a good look at the gilded building and its beautiful appearance reflected in the pond and to take pictures at your own pace.

  • Arashiyama

    In the fresh early morning air, we walk through the renowned bamboo forest before the site gets busy. The beauty of the bamboo grove in the morning sun is exceptional. Let's stop and close our eyes. We can hear the bamboo trunks and leaves touch each other in the morning breeze and making sounds that heal our heart tenderly.

Highly Recommend if You Don’t Mind Walking and Waking Up Early

I think my group didn’t realize how early they needed to get up for this because they’re not early risers… that being said, it’s literally in the name lol. I loved this tour and our tour guide, she was a very kind and lovely person! I also appreciated greatly that we went to the Inari Shrine early. I was able to get some great photos! It gets crowded fast, so I definitely recommend going in the morning. I liked that our guide was flexible with the schedule as well and messaged us beforehand to confirm the schedule. She was very informative and patient with us if we wanted to buy souvenirs which was nice too!

Great Morning Tour of the Kyoto Highlights

Kaz our guide was great! He is very knowledgeable about the sites, was able to take us to a few bonus sites that weren’t on the itinerary and helped give us advice on places to eat and shop! Would give him 10 stars if I could.

Great First Time Tour of Kyoto

Highly recommend booking a guided tour, this one in particular, to anyone visiting Kyoto for the first time. Transportation can be tricky in Kyoto; we had to hop on multiple trains and buses to get to the different temples. It helps a lot to have someone who knows how to move around the city. Our guide was great and very friendly. We got to beat the crowds and cram a lot into one morning: Inari shrine, Kinkakuji, Arashiyama bamboo forest. The tour was informative, if anything a bit light on historical details, but still good enough for a first time tour of the city. Lastly, we ended the tour in Arashiyama instead of being guided back to our original starting point of Kyoto Central Station. After eating, we visited the monkey park nearby, which I think was worth the visit.
