  • Zona Arqueologica de Mitla

    HIERVE EL AGUA – Spanish for "the wáter boils". It is belived to have been a sacred place of the ancient Zapotec.The site consists of two rock cliffs, one rock formation reaching down twelve meters and the other reaching down thirty meters, both look like waterfalls. These formations are created by fresh water springs, whose water is over saturated with calcium carbonate and other minerals. There is a natural platform with four springs and pools in which visitors can swim in this thermal waters

    TEOTITLAN DEL VALLE - Wool rugs in this town are made on domestic looms, using natural dyes like indigo, the cochineal seedling and the moss of the stone for their pigmentation.

    MEZCAL.-We visit the factory of Mezcal where you will see the process to get this taste drinks and also you shall try the different kind of creams of mescal that are made

A fantastic day trip at every turn

Picked us up and dropped us off at our AirBnB. Nestor turned out to be a great driver. Antonio our guide is Zapotec and had deep insights into all our stops and basically gave us a private tour of Mitla. Although the food stop was good (not great), every aspect of this tour was both enjoyable and an incredible experience! Some incredible bargains on textiles and excellent mezcal followed us home, and small family mezcal distilleries could be seen roadside all along the way. 11/10 Do not miss out

We were with Antonio and everything went smoothly and nice. I really like the tour, the program and the explanations of the guide. In the tour price is not included the entrances because it requires to pay with cash only (20$ for Tule but you can skip it taking a beautiful picture from the square, 70$ hierve el agua, 95$ mitla ruins and 200$ for the buffet but you can bring your food). I highly recommend this tour, it was totally worth it and you can learn a lot about Mexican culture thanks to the guide knowledge.

Our guide Antonio was amazing. This is an economical tour in that you get a lot for the cost of the ticket. We saw five distinct attractions. All were coordinated well.
