ME ENCANTA OAXACA is an owned Zapotec woman project run by BETSAIDA LOPEZ, local born & raised in Oaxaca. This project started with the simple wish to share the world the beauty & cultural richness of Oaxaca State. I’m not only proud of my roots and my cultural heritage; but I am also committed to supporting other women by generating jobs, promoting them and promoting local consumption of different communities in different aspects, thus generating sustainable tourism. Therefore, once you join us on our tours you will live a unique experience. As consequence, Me Encanta Oaxaca is a phrase that expresses how much I love Oaxaca and I am so in love with Oaxaca as well and I believe that once you live this beautiful place, it’ll cast a spell on you!!!

Join the Authentic Oaxaca Food Tour, eat like a local on a 5.5 hours food walking tour, taste more than 24 things among typical Oaxaca foods, drinks, fruits, mezcal and more at the 3 main markets and 2 street food stalls, while we talk about culture, history, gastronomy, traditions, important characters, recommendations and we walk through nice places. If you have food allergies or food restrictions, you should mentioned 2 DAYS BEFORE OUR TOUR to do accommodations.
If you let us know about your allergies, restrictions or vegetarianism a night before or at the meet up, there won't be any change in the menu according to your restrictions.
If any of the participants arrive drunk or with hangover symptoms at the meet up, we'll ask for to leave for everybody's comfort and for the person itself and the ticket payment won't be refunded.
It's super important and your responsibility that you take care of yourself from illness, stomachaches or hangovers, etc. There’s no money refund from any of the previous topics.
If someone is detected with 37 ºC of fever or more, will be invited to rest in his/her hotel & the money will be refunded.
If guests cancel part of the experiences during the tour, there won’t be any refund.
Me Encanta Oaxaca reserves the right to cancel or modify itineraries, schedules, and excursions for causes beyond its control, with no responsibility other than to refund the amount paid by the guest, total or partial, as the case may be.

This tour almost lasts the entire day not only do you learn so much about food, culture, and history of the state but you get a good amount of food to taste. You will definitely not need to eat the rest of the day. Betsaida created such a great friendly, relaxed atmosphere to enjoy all of the above. I’ve been on many food tours over the years, but this by far exceeded them all. Este recorrido dura casi todo el día. No solo aprendes mucho sobre la comida, la cultura y la historia del estado, sino que también puedes probar una buena cantidad de comida. Definitivamente no necesitarás comer el resto del día. Betsaida creó un ambiente agradable y relajado para disfrutar de todo lo anterior. He participado en muchos recorridos gastronómicos a lo largo de los años, pero este los superó a todos con creces.

Betsaida is kind, knowledgeable and passionate. The perfect combination of culture, food and history. Because of Betsaida’s infectious personality, the group bonded, engaged and relaxed. By the end it was like sharing experiences with old friends. We can never capture how incredible the day has been. If you’re considering booking, do it. (Tip: do it early in your stay as Betsaida gives so much advice on what else to see and do, you’ll want the time to do everything she recommends!)

Betsaida makes you feel like a close cousin sharing her culture, city and local food with you. This is a must do first. This is THE way to start a trip to Oaxaca. We took this tour our first full day there to familiarize ourselves with the food and city before we spent the rest of the week on our own. It was above and beyond we expected. Betsaida has such an infectious spirit, it was like seeing a friend we hadn’t seen in a long time. She is passionate about her city and culture and you will learn about both. And the food! This is a must do for your first full day. We were able to spend the rest of the week wandering around all the barrios seeing her recommendations for shopping, sites and food. Make sure your smartwatch is charged and shoes comfortable. You will get in the steps.

A MUST do upon arrival to Oaxaca!! Perfect for getting the lay of the land, exposure to the culture, and most important - the FOOD!! Betsaida is the most welcoming tour guide and she has a wealth of knowledge of the traditions and history of Oaxaca. She did a phenomenal job in getting the group to interact with each other and share experiences while carefully pacing the food, beverages, walking, and education. She selected the perfect spots/markets to taste the different foods, shop, and experience the local environment. (food was amazing!!). Definitely recommend doing this - and I would do it again if I go back - as I am sure she has more to share.
