    Adventure with us on this magical Northern Lights hunt, departing at 9pm this evening cruise from Tromsø in the darkness of Polar Night. This guided cruise aboard the large, comfortable sightseeing catamaran MS Rygerdronningen departs from Tromsø, some 350 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. During the winter, the sun sets in Tromsø around the 27 November and normally doesn’t rise until 15 January, which creates an amazing dark condition for seeing this once in a lifetime scene. You can look out for the Aurora through the panoramic windows of our warm, cozy cabin and then head out into the crisp Arctic air for a look from our spacious decks for an even clearer view. The Auroras are unforgettable light shows caused by electrically charged particles from the sun colliding with gases in the Earth’s atmosphere. They are best seen near the Earth’s North and South Poles. They can be many colors, although green is the most common.

    Even when we know the science, the magic and mythology of these wavering lights remain. The ancient Vikings, for example, believed the lights were reflections from the shields and armor of female warriors called the Valkyrie. NORTHERN LIGHTS GUARANTEE: While our expert crews will do everything possible to show you the Aurora on this northern lights tour, it is a natural phenomenon that we can’t guarantee. However, if you don’t experience the Northern Lights, we offer a free ticket to the next available Northern Lights safari on our boat. This free ticket can only be used once. MS Rygerdronningen is a perfect boat for hunting the northern lights. The boat is large and spacious, with plenty of space both outside and inside. In the kiosk you can buy food, snacks as well as hot and cold drinks.

Very Nice tour , really...

Very Nice tour , really good vessel to hit waves in necessary case , very confortable . Crew well trained . The time with the whales is short in my opinion but it is due to special regulation to protect them , soo i’m fully agree with it . No food or any thing to eat included in a 6-8 h tours …. bring your own .

Didn't get to see the Northern Lights on this trip but the host for this experience was excellent. His name is Carlo and he was so knowledgeable about the Aurora Borealis/Australis.
