Budget-Friendly Northern Lights Chase – Offers an affordable way to hunt for the Northern Lights while maintaining comfort in a modern, heated bus. Flexibility to Find Clear Skies – Our route adapts based on weather conditions, sometimes taking us inland, along the coast, or even into Finland to maximize the chances of seeing the aurora. Transparency About Challenges – We prioritize finding clear skies over scenic locations due to increased road traffic. Stops may be alongside roads, but our goal is to provide the best possible view of the Northern Lights. Comfort with Realistic Expectations – The bus offers warmth, though it may cool down on particularly cold nights. Guests are encouraged to dress in warm layers for added comfort. Guided by Experts – Knowledgeable guides provide insights and help with photography, ensuring a memorable experience.

Please meet us at Tromsø Havn Prostneset, Bus Terminal Platform (exit through the main hall) at 17:30. Please be on time! The tour departs at 17:45 sharp.

  • Our tour operates in all weather conditions. We often see the best Northern Lights displays on nights with the worst forecasted weather conditions.
  • This is a real chase that may include many hours of driving. The return time to Tromsø is between midnight and 04:00
  • There are no refunds or free trips if we do not see the Northern Lights or if you fail to meet us at the meeting point on time.
  • We require a minimum of 15 participants. In the rare event that a tour needs to be cancelled, a full refund will be provided.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Chasing Lights Northern Lights Big Bus Chase was an unforgettable experience! Our tour guides, Kalita and Jacob, were absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing their expertise. They made the whole adventure fun and stress-free, ensuring we had the best chances to see the Northern Lights. Their enthusiasm and dedication really shone through, and thanks to them, we had an incredible time chasing the lights across the stunning Arctic landscapes. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a magical Northern Lights experience!

Magestic and magical experience

Chasinglights team was amazing ! They give more than 100 % efforts from their end so that we get to see northern lights. We went for 2 days and on both the days we had amazing views and amazing experience with the team !one day they drove till finland border for chasing the lights ! Very supportive staff ! They gave all needed information , explained science , stories and culture also ! Going by the bus was the best option for us as they had washroom/toilet also available at the back side of the bus . My 8 years old daughter also enjoyed comfortably and thoroughly! They took beautiful pictures and videos also ! It was beyond amazing ! I and my family will cherish this beautiful memory lifelong !

Amazing experience

The guides were so knowledgeable and engaging, making the entire experience so enjoyable. They were careful to manage expectations since this is of course an unpredictable event, but still maintained an optimistic attitude that had everyone excited. Loved listening to the culture/science talks in between views— it took my mind off the cold. We had a fantastic show and I never worried about missing anything because the guides were so diligent about not leaving anyone out. Highly recommend! :)
