Wow! I couldn’t recommend this guide more! People get weird sometimes about paying for apps, but if you’ve come all the way to Maui and want to do the Road to Hāna, $20 is a very small price to exponentially improve your trip. I love that it follows you along your trip and directs you to things that you otherwise wouldn’t do. The stories were interesting and informative and the music set a great vibe for the trip. Don’t do the Road to Hāna without this app. You’ll be missing out if you do.

Drive is intense. Don’t be fooled you really are surviving to road to Hana. Take your time and plan for a full day of you want to see everything. Also some sights are closed like the botanical gardens we wanted to go to.
