Overview

Our small group experience takes place in a big boat atmosphere! A maximum of 20 guests onboard allows our captain and crew the chance to focus on providing each guest with the very best experience. Our boat is really what sets us apart from other companies- we have a fast, fun and extremely comfortable boat where everyone has a cushioned seat, large open platform for viewing the whales and fast, quiet engines to help us maximize our time with the whales during your tour. Knowledgeable captains and crew who have worked among the whales for years will share whale facts and answer your questions. It's a great photo opportunity and most people who do it come back for more!

Meeting points

Please check in 30 minutes prior at MALA BOAT RAMP, in Lahaina. If you feel lost, CALL US. Look for someone wearing a Makai Adventures shirt. Parking is available at the Cannery Mall. Uber/Taxi can drop off at Ramp. Late check-ins are considered no-shows and no refund will be given.

Itinerary

Aloha! Our small group whale watching tours are fun for all ages and a great opportunity to experience seeing the Humpback Whales for yourself! Check in at MALA BOAT RAMP 30 minutes prior to your departure time. It will be a barefoot cruise! Easy to remove footwear like flip flops are best. We appreciate your patience throughout our boarding process. After a quick safety briefing, we will head out to find the most active whales. Our Captains and Crew will share their knowledge of the whales and are happy to answer any questions you may have. We do our best to provide the most personalized and exciting tours possible, but it's also important to realize that these amazing animals deserve a great amount of respect. We follow all regulations regarding distances, approach limits and make a big effort to avoid participating in any overcrowding of their space. Wear what's comfortable, make sure you have space on your camera and that the battery is charged and come out ready to have a good time!

The trip was perfect in all the ways you want a whale watching day to be. The boat size was perfect and the weather was amazing. The crew was so good in making everyone feel comfortable and keep us excited while going to find the whales. We saw so many we had to keep looking in all directions. I would tell anyone to use them and not to miss the experience .

Elijah and Allison were knowledgeable and took us to several sites to see numerous humpbacks. Fascinating to learn about female mating routine. Open air boat was very convenient to take great photos while standing.

This was our best whale watching event so far!!!!! The whales were incredibly active the afternoon we sailed. Tiffany did an outstanding job sharing all the facts around these humpback whales' culture and habits. Isaiah, our captain, did an excellent job positioning our boat right where it needed to be. And...thanks to Eva, the scheduler, she brought us good luck in moving us to this time slot -- to se the best whale performance ever!!! THANK YOU all!!! We will definitely book this whale watching tour again on future Maui visits!!

It was amazing trip. I was uneasy about the barefoot part since I have trouble without shoes because of surgery. But they did let me leave them on.
