Overview

Discover the natural beauty hidden just off Hawaii’s famed Hana Highway on a waterfalls and rainforest hike in East Maui. The 5-hour excursion takes you deep into one of Hawaii’s most popular valleys, where several waterfalls tumble within a short distance of one another. On this relaxed hike, take a dip into the pools located beneath the falls, clamor up columnar basalt rock formations to jump safely into the water, and enjoy a healthy lunch.

The Park & Ride meeting location is along a large concrete wall with a single row of parking facing Hwy 380 west of Hwy 311 just before entering Kahului. • At the Intersection of Highways 311 & 380. • GPS coordinates: 20 degrees, 52 minutes, 30 seconds N, 156 degrees, 27 minutes, 43 seconds W

Itinerary

After meeting at our start point , you will be driven along the Hana Highway (Road to Hana) to the trailhead. From here we will take you on an incredible hike through a rainforest valley with a knowledgeable, local guide.

Great tour and hike

The all day tour and hike up the Pipiwai trail was great. It’s a long day driving but no other way to get to Hana and beyond. We lucked out with sunny weather for our hike, and rain only at the end. Guide Enrique did a great job, driving efficiently and also checking to make sure everyone was ok. Snacks and lunch were simple but plentiful. I recommend doing the tour and letting someone else drive!

A great way to experience the remote areas of Maui.

It was a real, plus having a Guide with us to point out the flora and Fana, as we walked through the rainforest, and knew exactly how to get to the waterfall in the best way. The water was cool, but very delightful to swim in close to the waterfall. we are in our 70s and there are others in our group that were in their 20s. It was delightful for anyone of any age.

We had an amazing experience, Felipe ,our guide, was knowledgeable, fun and really friendly. He took the time to introduce us to many of the plants in the rainforest, explaining their fruits and sometimes letting us taste things that were in season. He also took us to five waterfalls, three of which we could swim in. Two of these also had great jumping in points and Felipe was great at showing us each spot and where to get the best photos. Really great days walking and swimming.

Eugene was fantastic! Would go again! Twin falls hike was nice and easy, Eugene was very knowledgeable and a great guide. Lots of info and even some edible plants. Heck yeah!
