Overall outstanding. You walk right next to the monkeys in their environment. Went in the summer, still worth seeing. It is 3.5 hour drive from Tokyo and 30 minute hike with some steep spots.

Amazing trip to the heartland of Honshu, featuring unforgettable sights and experiences. Service-minded and flexible driver. Well worth the money, as this is not easy to organize as an independent traveler on a day trip from Tokyo.

ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT

Our Tokyo trip was so wonderful, but out of everything, this took the win!! Ali was such an amazing host. His English is easy to understand, and his attention to giving us facts to knowing when we wanted to rest we spot on. Now the monkeys omgosh the monkeys are fantastic. I personally own 5 rescued capuchin monkeys. I have built them a wonderful habitat, but to see monkeys play in their natural environment is absolutely amazing. These are not shy guys as they will stand and run right in front of you. I am heavy set women so the hike is a little intense but i made it just fine it is slick though. It was a long drive(but well worth it), and if you are not fans of crowds or tours, then this is right for you.
