Overview

Visit the 5th Station or the highest point accessible on Mt. Fuji, Japan's iconic peak registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour will also visit Hakone, popular for its beautiful scenery, where customers can experience a lake cruise and cable car ride and fully enjoy the majestic nature of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Through explanations from the National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter accompanying this tour, customers can learn about history, nature, and other features of the region treasured by tour destinations. Enjoy the tour comfortably aboard an air-conditioned bus on the outbound trip, and aboard the Shinkansen, Japan's pride, from Odawara Station on the return trip.

Itinerary

  • Mount Fuji (Pass By)

    Our bus tour takes you to at the base of Mt. Fuji. In the event that the Fuji Subaru Line is closed, the tour will divert to either Lake Kawaguchi Oishi Park or the Fujisan World Heritage Center.

  • Mt. Fuji 5th Station

    The bus will head up to the 5th Station along the Subaru Line or the highest point accessible. The 5th Station is situated at 2,300 meters (7,546 feet) above sea level. At this height, you will be amazed at spectacular, breathtaking views from above the clouds. Depending on road conditions, the tour will be guided to Mt. Fuji 4th Station or 5th Station. If the Fuji Subaru Line is closed, the tour will visit Lake Kawaguchi Oishi Park or Fujisan World Heritage Center.

  • Fuji Zakura Hotel

    [Only for with Lunch option] Enjoy a Japanese-style meal with tea/coffee. Aside from a Japanese-style meal, Vegetarian meal, Muslim-friendly meal, and Indian thali meal are available. Please make a request when booking. [Only for Customers selected Japanese-style meal on Tours between Sept. 17 and Feb. 28, 2025] On this travel product, a subsidy of JPY 2,000 applies based on the Wagyu Beef Inbound Consumption Promotion Support Project by the Japan Livestock Products Export Promotion Council. During the lunch break, there will be a Wadaiko (Japanese drum) performance, one of Japan's traditional arts performed by the Social Welfare Corporation Fugakukai.     Hop on board the Sorakaze, a cruise ship on Lake Ashi in Hakone. Spend a relaxing time while gazing at the beautiful lake and Mt. Fuji aboard a ship where passengers can feel as if they're in a green park floating over Lake Ashi.

  • Hakone Ropeway

    Take a cableway ride up to the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya (original shrine) that nestles at the Komagatake mountaintop. Enjoy the scenery of Lake Ashi in the Hakone National Park spreading out below. [Duration Estimate] One-way ropeway ride to summit 7 min ā€“ stroll around summit ā€“ one-way ropeway ride to base 7 min (total 50 min) [From January 14 to March 4, 2025] Komagatake Ropeway closes for maintenance. During this period, tours will visit an alternative site

    Board the Kodama Shinkansen in the non-reserved section. It takes just 34 minutes to Tokyo Station. There may be no accompanying National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter on the Shinkansen for the return trip. In this case, information on how to return to hotels from Tokyo Station will be provided in advance.

    The tour concludes between 5pm and 8pm upon arrival at Tokyo Station. After arrival, please make your own way to your next destination from Tokyo Station.

  • Depending on road conditions, the tour will be guided to Mt. Fuji 4th Station or 5th Station. Fuji Visitable Location & Timing Estimate] The best time to visit to reach the 5th Station is typically from late April to around November, but in winter (December to early April), it cannot be reached on most days due to reasons such as snowfall and road surface freezing.
  • Due to weather conditions, Mt. Fuji may not be visible even from the base. However, the tour will not be canceled and refunds will not be given for this reason.
  • If the Lake Ashi cruise or Komagatake Ropeway cannot be boarded (when not visitable due to suspension of operation, road congestion, or conditions at other sightseeing areas), the tour will be guided to one of the following alternative destinations. (The tour will not be canceled and refunds will not be issued for this reason.) Appare Sightseeing Boat on Lake Kawaguchi, Swan Lake Cruise Ship on Lake Yamanaka, Hakone Pirate Ship, Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, Hakone Ropeway, Hakone Jukkokutoge Panoramic Cable Car, Itchiku Kubota Art Museum, Fujiyama Museum, Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone-en Aquarium, Ninja Bus, Oshino Shinobi no Sato, Hakone Checkpoint, Odawara Castle, Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, Higashiguchi Hongu Sengen Shrine, Oshino Hakkai, Hakone Shrine, Hakone Sekisho Tabimonogatarikan (Shop), etc.
  • Depending on the season and day of the week, traffic conditions may vary, and arrival time at each location may be considerably delayed. Thank you for your understanding.
  • Customers who are late for the departure time will have their reservations canceled. Please give yourself plenty of time.
  • Children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with bus seats or lunch. If bus seats or lunch is required, please make a booking under the child rate.

  • During the lunch break, there will be a Wadaiko "Japanese drum" performance, one of Japan's traditional arts performed by the Social Welfare Corporation Fugakukai. Please note that the tour may not be able to view the performance in case arrival is considerably delayed due to road conditions, or the tour is unable to reach the intended meal venue. Furthermore, depending on the circumstances of the facility, the performance may be canceled without prior notice.   • [For Shinjuku Dep. option] GPS-enabled audio guides in Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Thai, French, and Indonesian may be used while on board a dedicated vehicle. Please select your tour language at the time of reservation. Same-day requests are not accepted. There are a limited number of audio guides available, so it may not be possible to provide one for each participant. Also, no refunds will be issued even if the audio guide is unusable due to weak signal, device issues, Wi-Fi malfunction, etc. Furthermore, they may be unusable if there are changes to the itinerary.
  • Depending on the number of tour participants, transportation to be used may be other than a large bus (mid-size bus, small bus, hired car, etc.).
  • As there are locations to be visited on this tour such as Mt. Fuji 5th Station, etc. with lower temperatures compared to Tokyo, bringing warm clothing is recommended. (Reference: Even in the daytime, temperatures may drop to 14ā„ƒ in summer and -5ā„ƒ in winter.)
  • It will not be possible to bring large luggage whose total height, width, and length exceeds 160 cm onto non-reserved cars of the Shinkansen. If bringing large luggage, please make use of a delivery service on your own. Also the return bullet train is not a designated seat.
  • On the day when the annual Mt. Fuji Hill Climb is held, which is usually on a weekend in June (schedule for 2025 onwards TBD), the Fuji Subaru Line is closed until around 14:00. The tour will proceed on this day as well. Please note that there will be changes to the itinerary order and sightseeing locations, and the Komagatake Ropeway and Lake Ashi cruise may be changed to alternative itineraries. Furthermore, please note that refunds will not be issued in this case, and customers will not be notified separately when the schedule has been determined.
  • Parental permission in writing is necessary for all tour participants under the age of eighteen. Any participant under the age of fifteen or not yet enrolled in middle school must be joined by a parent or guardian on the tour.
  • This is a carbon offset product where a portion of the tour booking charge is spent on renewable energy. By converting CO2 emissions during the tour to green energy, it's possible to contribute to activities protecting the planet's future.

Guide was informative and clear, views were amazing, food was good, drum performance was interesting, gained an understanding behind the background of Fuji and also about Japan. Fun boat ride and roadway included as well to view mt fuji from different perspectives.

Our tour guide Joy was great. #1 tour guide in Tokyo. And Tanaka was #1 bus driver. All the locations were great and lunch was good as well. There was even entertainment provided with a traditional Japanese drum band.

Guide Joy-San did a great job giving direction and explaining the scenery around Mt Fuji. Scenes of Mt Fuji were beautiful with the surrounding nature. The drum performance during lunch was powerful and entertaining to watch and listen.

I had a layover for a day in Tokyo and wanted to see Mt Fuji on my way back to Canada. This was the perfect tour to see this amazing mountain from many different perspectives! I very much enjoyed Shin's commentary along the way and he was very helpful with all the places we visited. Lunch was a lovely hot pot and the drum show was exquisite. I finished up with the bullet train and it made for the perfect end to the day. This was a great tour to connect with a few of Japan's great sites and I recommend this company if you want a days worth of sightseeing!
