  • Cabo Girao

    Cape Girão (Girão Cape) is the biggest cliff in Europe. It is located in the island of Madeira, and it can be seen from the sea or visited from land to enjoy its fantastic views. This impressive cliff has 580 meters of free fall.

  • Ribeira Brava Beach

    This village, whose name means Wild River, is located in the mouth of the river of the same name, between mountains full of banana trees and other crops. To know the reason of the name "Ribeira Brava" it is recommendable to visit the village at the end of autumn or in winter, when the river flows at full. During the rest of the year, its quiet appearance hides its true nature.

  • Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools

    Porto Moniz is an amazingly cosmopolitan village for being located in the northern end of Madeira. You will find some amazing natural pools which have been enlarged to have an area of warm baths of marine water. The city of Porto Moniz also has interesting places such as the Centro de Ciência Viva Center and the Aquarium of Madeira Aquarium. After you leave behind the city, the road goes up, zigzagging along the great slope of the hill which dominates the village. Here you will find two amazing overlooks that offer some impressive views.

  • Miradouro do Veu da Noiva

    Seixal, located between Porto Moniz and São Vicente, is an excellent place to stop if you are traveling through the highway of the Northern coast of Madeira. From here you can explore the rocky coast and have a walk in the dock to admire the big cliffs and waterfalls which are on both sides of this little village.

  • Sao Vicente

    São Vicente is a village located in the mouth of Ribeira Grande, almost hidden in the hole of a cliff, in the island of Madeira, Portugal. Its houses are set around the church and its environment is very initing with good cafes, hotels and numerous shops. The Chapel of St. Vincent Chapel lies on top of a rock in the mouth of the river.

  • The Camara de Lobos promenade

    Câmara de Lobos is a small fishing village and municipality, located in the west of Madeira, which owes a large part of its appeal to the little fleet of fishing boats, painted in rich colors. The fishing boats can be seen on the beach for most of the day.

Great way to see west Madeira.

Great way to see the west of the island both south and north. Only had 30 mins at Câmara de Lobos but it whet my appetite so returned on the local bus on another day. Would have liked to have stopped at the viewpoint above Porto Moniz. Informative driver/guide. Great day out! Collected and returned to my hotel! Recommended!

Reminiscing seeing places in Madeira

Revisiting some places in Madeira we’ve not seen in years. Loved to see how much places had changed. Our guide Alex was charming helpful and went out of his way to be sure we were happy. And an excellent driver.

An excellent day out in a comfortable van (unlike some we observed enroute!!) Nice variety of stops with a pleasant and friendly driver host who gave us plenty of interesting facts along the way. By far the best point along the trip were the natural pools stop for lunch. Wish we'd have taken our swim gear as places to change available at 3euro entrance fee into a fabulous pool complex. Amazing views of a wonderful coastline. Recommend

A great mix of stops enabled us to see lots of different areas. Lionel was a great guide, funny and helpful. Would highly recommend this trip!
