Go green with the premier dolphin and whale watching Eco-experience on Madeira Island! Magic Dolphin Eco is the only purpose built dolphin & whale watching catamaran in Madeira Island with hybrid-electric engines. It was specially developed to assure our passengers a safe, comfortable and exceptional tour. Its hybrid-electric engines reduce noise and emissions making it the best experience not only for our guests, but also for our beloved cetaceans! There are two levels for the best viewing, four trampoline nets located at the bow of the boat, two bathrooms and two bars where you can purchase drinks and snacks. Our crew of certified guides are there to ensure everyone the best possible experience. They share their knowledge about the species we encounter, the history of Madeira and the local highlights.

Meeting points

Please arrive at the Funchal marina 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. All guests must check in with our friendly staff at our kiosk for a boarding pass. In respect to all of our guests the boat leaves on time. If you miss the boat, you will be not be issued a refund.

Itinerary

Cruise on our 2022 purpose-built Eco-friendly catamaran and enjoy a comfortable tour along the southern coast of Madeira Island. Our spotters on land use binoculars to find the animals and direct the boat right to them. When sea life arrives our hybrid-electric engines engage for silent emission free cruising which helps keep the cetaceans very happy! Our certified guides will provide you with informative commentary and fun facts about the cetaceans and different species that you may see. On our way back, we sail close to the coast passing by many points of interest that may include: • Cabo Girão - the 2nd highest sea cliff in the world (time permitting you can go for a quick swim) • Camara de Lobos Bay – a traditional fishing village • World famous Reid’s Hotel where Winston Churchill and high profile celebs stayed during visits to Madeira Island • Enjoy views of our paradise island in comfort and style

Great Crew and lovely whales!

We travelled on the MagicDolphin on 20th December. As we boarded, the weather was changing and we had some black clouds and rain appearing! The sea was quite choppy and the wind was cold! The Captain and Crew quickly settled everyone down very politely and professionally and diverted from battling the waves into a smooth ride. All of the crew were experienced and guided us to a spot where we were able to view a pod of pilot whales with some informative talks along the way. We enjoyed the trip very much and would recommend to anyone thinking of going. Shame we didn’t see any dolphins but the trip was still worthwhile.

Whales!! It was exciting to see these cute Pilot Whales and have two different sightings. The catamaran was well kept and clean. The crew was extremely helpful getting us on and off the vessel. Our guide was terrific! He was extremely knowledgeable and kept us informed about the area. A very, very good tour. We highly recommend.

Exciting trip. Got very wet- take a waterproof! Say two pilot whales bu nothing else sadly. Wild creatures are unpredictable! Great fun. Thanks

Perfect Excursion

We had originally planned on a different tour operator but had to make a last minute switch due to unforeseen circumstances. We thought we should just cancel the whole idea of spending time on a boat but wanted to do a fun excursion for our kids. We chose this whale watching company and were not disappointed. We saw a pod of pilot whales, a squid and a sea turtle. The boat stopped off under Cabo Girao for a quick swim and then headed back to the marina. A lovely morning spent on the ocean with great captain and crew!
