Overview

An 9 hour tour to Aveiro, the portuguese "Venice" and Coimbra, one of the oldest capitals of Portugal. Starting in Aveiro, a museum city of Art Noveau, birds and salt pans, you will find some of the most beautiful buildings of the country. A tradicional "moliceiro" boat ride along the channels is part of the tour. After tasting the typical regional sweets, have a walk in the centre where we will visit the Cathedral, St Joana museum, and the fish market. You will then have some free time for lunch. After, we will take you to Coimbra, a city known for being the students city with an astonishing University. Filled with monuments and historical treasures, this city is ready to be discovered by you. Starting with the Cathedral of Coimbra, St.Cruz Church and the Historical City Center. Followed by the University of Coimbra where you can go inside for an optional visit. You will then be driven to your accommodation back in Oporto.

Beautiful area. Great guide and tour

We had a wonderful tour with Tiago. The listed sights were wonderful and his deep knowledge of the history, sights and local area made the day especially good. We have done quite a few tours in Portugal, and Tiago's knowledge and enthusiasm made it one of our favourites.

Pleasant day excursion from Porto

It is always hard to know how much time is used for the sights at hand but also to the necessary free time. This one did it fine. There was enough time for both. Of course it helps that the group is small, maximum eight, but only five in this case.. It was also good that we had more time for and in Coimbra as that had more to see. Coimbra, of course, is about 100 kms/60 miles south of Porto so there is some sitting in the car involved. Alex the guide was knowledgeable and he switched between Spanish and English easily, spoke clearly and loud enough. The timetable given was accurate. I would do this again.

The tour guide Maximo was amazing and also the whole tour. Just right for one day trip. He represend all Portugal history and history of the city we visit i. uniqe way.

Two enjoyable cities

We were a small group, but that made it more enjoyable. Our guide showed us all the sights and explained them very fully. The short cruise was also enjoyable. There was a bit of flexibility as I had to leave the tour early, much appreciated

Enjoyable Day Tour!

We enjoyed the day with our guide Maria. In Coimbra I wish we had a little more time to walk around. But we booked an optional tour of the University Library, which took up some of the leisure time. Aveiro was lovely with plenty of time for lunch, exploring, and canal boat trip. A very worthwhile and enjoyable trip.
