Overview

This tour will take you to Mafra, where a world heritage convent-palace takes place. A complex consisting of a Royal Palace, a Basilica and a Convent, completed in 1735, by the will of King D. JoĂŁo V by virtue of a promise he had made on behalf of the descendants. After visiting the palace, head to the coast and arrive at Ericeira, a pretty fishing village. Its connection to the sea is undeniable, which you can enjoy exploring its narrow streets located in the Historic Center that take us back to other times. Enjoy some free time for lunch or exploring by your own. Onwards, you will travel towards the interior, to discover Queluz National Palace, not infrequently called the Portuguese Versailles. It is an 18th century palace built as a summer retreat. Among the various rooms and other divisions of the palace, explore one of the most mesmerizing gardens of the Portuguese Palaces.

  • Palacio Nacional de Mafra

    Visit the National Palace of Mafra, a complex consisting of a Royal Palace, a Basilica and a Convent, completed in 1735, by the will of King D. João V by virtue of a promise he had made on behalf of the descendants he would obtain from the queen. Mafra’s greatest treasure is the library. Here are kept books that are unique and rare examples of knowledge produced between the 15th and 19th centuries. Ticket cost: 6 euros

    Explore Ericeira, a pretty fishing village. Walk through the Historic Center that take us back to other times and have free-time for lunch to enjoy the local gastronomy.

    Visit Queluz National Palace, not infrequently called the Portuguese Versailles. It is an 18th-century palace and was built as a summer retreat. Amazing Guide and Tour

This was an excellent private tour with Goncalo. He speaks good English and has a very nice, comfortable car. He is a very knowledgeable and personable guide. We really enjoyed this tour. The Queluz Palace was absolutely amazing. It was the highlight of the tour. The gardens and the tile canal are incredible. There are some beautiful rooms and chandeliers in the palace too. The Mafra Monastery is also quite nice. This is an excellent tour especially if you have already done a couple of the top sites like the Pena Palace.

Gonzalo was amazing tour guide, he made the day so much fun, he knew so much. Mafra was the best palace and the tour to the small town queluz with the ocean was amazing
