Experience all of Toyosu Fish Market with Fumi, a licensed guide with over 8 years of experience. This tour accommodates a maximum of 2 groups, with a total of up to 7 people. ◆ Meeting Point (around 4:30) Your guide will pick you up at your hotel. Enjoy a mini Tokyo tour along the way. ◆ Tuna Auction Tour (5:00–6:30) Watch the entire auction process from start to finish, from the closest spot available, including the tuna inspection. ◆ Toyosu Market Tour (6:30–9:00) Your guide will lead you through the market, where you'll learn about the market, and Japanese food and culture. Enjoy authentic sushi at a top market spot with reservations—no waiting outside. (* Breakfast is not included in the tour price). The market is also the best place to sample and shop for authentic souvenirs like fruits, wasabi, Japanese sweets, green tea, miso, sake, nori, dashi (dried kelp), kitchen knives, and tableware. Our guide will pick you up at your hotel in Tokyo's Chuo-Ku, Chiyoda-Ku, Shinjuku-Ku, Shibuya-Ku, Bunkyo-Ku, Nakano-Ku, or ... Minato-Ku(Excluding Minato-Ku's Takanawa, Shiba, Shibaura, Shirokanedai, Mita, Kaigan, Konan, Minamiazabu and Daiba) at no extra charge. The guide will arrange a cab and we take the cab from your hotel to the market and you will pay the cab fare on the spot. Cabs are the only means of transportation during these hours. Early but worth it!

Our tour guide Fumi met us in our hotel lobby at 4:30 am sharp. He arranged two taxi cabs to take us to Toyosu Market. This was not included in the fee for the tour but it was fantastic that he took care of the reservation so we had one less thing to worry about! As soon as we arrived, Fumi had loads of information to share about the history of the new fish market vs. the old fish market. I hope this is not a spoiler, but my absolute favorite thing about the tour were the comic strip handouts with informational content for all aspects of the tour i.e. how to eat sushi, the process of preparing fish for sushi and so much more! Before we arrived in Japan, Fumi communicated information to us about how to enter the lottery to get a spot on the observation deck for the auction and luckily, even though we had to break up into two groups, both our groups were able to secure a spot in the lottery on the observation deck. We were able to view the auction from a spot right above the auction floor (behind a glass) and we were able to hear/see everything. After the auction, Fumi secured a reservation for us at a small sushi shop. Again, not included in the fee for the tour but so nice to be able to walk up and have a spot to eat sushi for breakfast! The tour continued through the market with stops at different vendors and the comic strips kept coming! Throughout the tour I noticed other tourists stopping to listen in because Fumi was dishing out so much knowledge! I definitely recommend doing this tour if it is your first time to Toyosu Market as you will get so much more out of your visit than just blindly wandering around.
