Overview

On this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Toyosu wholesaler market with a guide, which is not accessible only to tourists. You will also have the opportunity to see the process of cutting up a block of tuna into individual portions, which is a very special job that even young sushi chefs are not allowed to do. We will purchase tuna from the Toyosu Market, and work with a sushi chef to pick out and make sushi. You will see where the tuna that you eat at restaurants comes from and learn about it while eating tuna. In this tour, you will have a special opportunity to experience the process with a sushi chef. At the end of the tour, we will eat the tuna we have cut ourselves in a variety of ways. You will also have the chance to try your hand at making sushi.

  • Tsukiji Jogai Market

    In Tsukiji, you will visit various stores while eating and walking around. While enjoying shopping and eating, you can experience the differences between Tsukiji and Toyosu Market.（ Including travel time）

  • Sendagi

    You will experience the process of sakuri-taking tuna and nigiri sushi with a sushi chef at a Japanese restaurant. You will be able to compare different parts of the tuna and try different ways of eating tuna. You will also learn how to make sushi from the chef.（ Including travel time）

If you love Sushi, this is the one

We had a great time visiting the fish market (the largest in the world!) and learning how to make sushi from a local Chef. There's quite a bit of walking and some public transport between locations, but that just added to the feeling of an adventure. If you love Sushi or you're interested in food this is a great experience. Honestly, it's worth it just for the fish market.

Fun experience getting to visit the Toyosu fish market which is otherwise closed to the public, shopping and snacking at the Tsukiji market and then learning how to cut tuna before making your own sushi. Tour guides spoke fluent English and answered any questions I had.

Enjoyed a tour of both the old and new fish markets followed by a sushi class focused on tuna. Learned to properly cut tuna and make nagiri (beyond just tuna). The brunch included many sides of unique Japanese foods I have never experienced. Highly recommend.

This tour allowed us to experience the Toyosu market as a buyer. It was incredibly cool to walk through the stalls and see all the seafood. Next we headed to Tsukiji market for a guided walk. We stopped at a few famous spots for snacks and souvenirs. Then we headed to a restaurant to learn from a chef how to cut tuna. This experience was very educational and fun! Finally we got to eat our sushi creations and a few other dishes prepared by the chef. I highly recommend this tour!
