    The Sommarøy bridge is a free-build bridge from Kvaløya to Sommarøya in Troms. The bridge is 522 meters long, and the longest span is 120 meters. It is part of county road 7766. Sommarøybrua has only one lane and is therefore equipped with traffic lights to regulate the direction of traffic. But it was reported in 2004 that the traffic lights do not work properly when it is windy, which happens relatively often.

    "Tirpitz" and its sister ship "Bismarck" were the largest battleships in the German navy, Kriegsmarine, during the Second World War. The ship was named after the German Minister of the Navy and Grand Admiral Alfred Freiherr von Tirpitz. The ship was stationed in Norway from 1942, and after several Allied attacks was finally sunk at Tromsø in 1944. Because the ship was not in ordinary operation at that time but functioned as an anchored, floating artillery, the crew was reduced; of this, a total of 916 people died, slightly more than half of the crew on board.

Fjords sightseeing with a personal touch

We booked this tour on very short notice, and we are glad we did so! The tour includes several stops on Kvaløya island, where you can admire the beauty of the Fjords. And a tasty lunch on Sommarøy island. Our guide, Steffen, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The nature is amazing, and we took plenty of pictures. We were lucky to also catch a herd of reindeer on the way!!

We had a super time with Steffan on our fjord tour. We had many stops to see historic sites and scenic spots as well. It was an enjoyable day in a small group of 5 of us.

Excellent tour. Stefan was a thoughtful and interesting guide, a pleasure to spend a day with him. He took us to spots away from the usual tourist trail and was happy to stop for photos. Delicious traditional fish soup option at lunch. We were fortunate to see 4 otters, 2 reindeer and a sea eagle!

We did the fjord tour with Espen, and it was incredible! The warm, comfortable van took us to stunning spots, and Espen shared fascinating insights about Norway and Sami culture. The highlight was the campfire at the "Arctic Caribbean."
