The chapel has its origins in an old wooden chapel built in honour of Santa Catarina. The Passeio das Virtudes garden is the perfect place to end the day with a fabulous sunset over the River Douro. The boulevard offers an excellent view over the river, all the way to the bar at the mouth of the Douro.

In a dominant position over the Atlantic Ocean and a short distance from the mouth of the Douro River, it is also known as Castelo do Queijo (Cheese Castle) because, according to tradition, it was built on a rounded granite rock similar in shape to a cheese (penedo do Queijo).

Located on one of the highest points in the parish of Lordelo do Ouro, it offers a wide view of the Douro River estuary, including the Jardim do Calém, all the way to the sea.

This square, in the heart of Porto's historic centre, pays homage to Prince Henry the Navigator - the most important figure at the beginning of the Portuguese discoveries - who, according to tradition, was born nearby, in the so-called Casa do Infante, in 1394.
Palacio da Bolsa (Pass By)

The Palácio da Bolsa, or Palácio da Associação Comercial do Porto, a neoclassical building, began construction on 6 October 1842, the solemn date of the laying of the first stone, given the closure of the Casa da Bolsa do Comércio, which forced Portuguese traders to discuss their business in the open air.
Miradouro da Vitoria

The Miradouro da Vitória is located right in the heart of the old Jewish quarter. The history of this Jewish neighbourhood tells us that in the 14th century, King João I demarcated an area where all the Jews had to live, with high walls and access gates - it was like a city within the city of Porto. This period lasted around 100 years, until the arrival of the Inquisition.

A most enjoyable view of Porto!

The Tuk Tuk tour was great. We traveled all over Porto and gained very much information from our guide. He even recommended a restaurant for lunch at the end of our tour. I mentioned that my phone was running out of battery and he loaned me his power pack to use during our lunch.
