Overview

Letā€™s enjoy the night life in the biggest business and drinking town Shinjuku! You will see modern Shinjuku with many high buildings and neon signs and also, tiny local bars and narrow streets which make you feel like time traveling to Tokyo in the 1950s, without getting ā€œLost in translationā€. After meeting, we will take you to ā€œMemory laneā€, narrow streets full of small Yakitori(skewers) shops and restaurants and enjoy beer and Yakitori as our first spot. Then, we will move to the east part of Shinjuku as most of the businessmen there do after 5PM for the night life. We will explore around Kabukicho-area, one of the safest red-light district in the world with Robot restaurants and Godzilla head and enjoy the 2nd Izakaya. Then, move to our highlight ā€œGolden-gaiā€ where more than 200 tiny bars crammed into the miniature backstreets, enjoy the unique atmosphere and have the last drink there. *This is a group tour and all type of group is welcomed including solo-traveler.

Itinerary

  • Omoide Yokocho

    You will start the tour from Shinjuku west gate station on 17:00. Shinjuku is known for the biggest business and drinking town in Japan. So many business person areĀ walking on the street.Ā  At first you will visitĀ Omoide Yokocho, where is traditional and local Izakaya street. There are so many restaurants and bars in narrow spaces. That street is made after WW2. So you may feelĀ humanity. Surrounded by Japanese business person, let's eat Yakitori, skewered chicken and beer.Ā

  • Kabukicho

    Then you move to Kabukicho, the biggest red light district and see Japanese nightlife. There are so many glittering board and neon signs on the street, We pass by Godzilla building, narrow backstreet and learn Japanese night life.Ā After that move to local Izakaya and try fresh fish and vegetable cuisine along with ALL YOU CAN DRINK!

Hiro was a fantastic guide. Knowledgeable and friendly. He speaks excellent English. I highly recommend this tour. It was great fun and gave us really good ideas for our next visit.

Worth every penny. Off the beaten path, would have never found these places on my own. Tak was a great guide and even taught us some basic Japanese.

Our guide, Sean was amazing. He was super fun and very knowledgeable. We got to see so many interesting spots that I would not have seen on my own. Each of the places we went to were really delicious and super fun. You are really gonna have a good time on this tour.

I had an amazing experience on this tour. It was only me with the guide, Tak, and I was travelling solo too so it made for some really great conversations. I was impressed with how easily Tak personalised the trip and made me feel so welcomed and relaxed. Iā€™m sure he does this with all his groups regardless of size. The experienced involved some amazing local bar and food spots and Tak was educational, informative but also friendly and funny. Iā€™ll be recommending this tour and hopefully Tak to my friends and family!

Excellent! Hiro is an extremely knowledgeable and this is a great way to introduce yourself to Shinjuku. It's also a great way to meet other travelers. I recommend doing this tour as soon as you get to Shinjuku.
