" The tour is recommended for those who are willing to "actually experience" the Japanese culture for themselves, other than eating and drinking Japanese food. The experiences provided that are distinct, are cooking Okonomiyaki, Monjayaki, Sashimi, Yakitori, Japanese Sake, playing arcade games, and going to Japanese photo booths (we bet you've never heard of this before!)! etc. All the things that Japanese people would do but never get much exposure among tourists!   • Shinjuku 3 Chome

    First, we're going to visit Shinjuku 3-chrome, where you can experience Authentic local teppanyaki restaurants and you'll make your own "Okonomiyaki", and "Monja-yaki." Enjoy the delicious food and drinks while mingling with the friendly locals. This is a great way to discover the real old-town Tokyo nightlife.

  • Omoide Yokocho

    Next, we're heading to Omoide Yokocho. This narrow alleyway is packed with over 60 tiny bars and restaurants, serving delicious Yakitori, Motsuyaki, and other local specialties. You can enjoy the warm and friendly vibe of the place, chat with the locals, and taste a variety of drinks, from Sake and Shochu to beer and whiskey. This hidden gem will make your Tokyo trip unforgettable.

  • Kabukicho District

    Kabukicho is Tokyo’s most lively nightlife area, with countless bars, clubs, and entertainment options. You can experience Neon Japanese arcade (Taiko Drum Master:太鼓の達人, Purikura (Photobooth), MarioKart, and Wangan (car racing game).

  • Shinjuku Golden Gai

    Shinjuku Golden Gai is a unique drinking district in Tokyo’s Shinjuku ward. It has over 200 tiny bars packed in narrow alleys, each with its own personality and theme.

    Finally, we'll head back to kabuki-cho and eat Sea food, such as Sashimi, Sushi, Oyster. Also, you can try Japanese Sake tasting here, you can choose sake that are locally made in different prefectures in Japan.

Must-do in Tokyo

We had a great night with our guide Ken. We toured the Shinjuku area and he explained each area from a local perspective. The places we went to were fantastic and it was fun learning about each one. We will be talking about this for years to come and can’t think Ken enough for taking us around. You must do this tour on your trip to Tokyo!

We had a great time on the food tour in Shinjuku. We went to places and tried some delicious items that we would not have found ourselves. Fuji was a wonderful tour guide. He made the trip! This tour provided good value and I would recommend it to anyone.

My adult son and I had a fabulous time with this tour. Our guide, Ken, an enthusiastic, funny and friendly young local met us on time and took us to three locations where we enjoyed delicious food in a non-touristy environment. We had a little extra time between two of the locations so he even took us to a photo booth! We never would have done this and it was great fun. After two weeks of doing our own thing it was nice to turn our brains off and just let Ken lead the way. Thank you Ken! Would highly recommend this tour!
