You’ll join one of our hosts as they help you to get comfortable in Osaka - we know it can be daunting when you don’t speak the language and you have no idea what those signs on the subway say! You’ll feel like you’re being welcomed into the city by a friend who can’t wait to show you their energetic city and find your feet. Depending on what you’d like from your time together, they could take you to see some famous attractions, explore the area where you’re staying and get recommendations, or just enjoy a walk and see where your feet take you! Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do

  • Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street (Pass By)

    A giant (more than 600 meters!) shopping arcade where apparel shops, character goods, cafés and restaurants line the street. Just about everything a shopper would want is here. Be ready to go back home packed with Osaka-approved souvenirs!   • Kuromon Market (Pass By)

    open from 9:00 to 18:00 With almost 200 shops, it sells pretty much everything used in Japanese cooking. Many also sell cooked food (grilled eel, teppanyaki beef, fresh oysters, ramen, to name a few) you can indulge to following the recommendations of your local host - they’ve got the eye!   • Namba (Pass By)

    If you are still unfamiliar with the city, you’ll get to grips an area of central Osaka; more specifically, the canalside neighborhoods of Namba (on the southern bank of Dōtonbori Canal). IMPORTANT: Your host will personalize this tour to your wishes, and you’ll have a chance to discuss and choose which highlights you’d like to include in your itinerary.

  • Hozenji Yokocho (Pass By)

    Ask your local insider any questions you have, perhaps over a beer in a tiny izakaya bar in Hozenji Yokocho, a historic alleyway that’s right next to the bright lights of Dōtonbori Street but feels like stepping back in time.

    Wander the quirky streets of Shinsekai and scout out some sushi or ramen - Osakans are obsessed with food, and your host will share plenty of restaurant tips with you! Perfect kickstart to Osaka

We arrived at midday and this 3-4 hour afternoon tour was ideal to give us a look at the palace plus an overview of other sites. Maria was our guide and she really told us about the culture and hot spots which we followed up the next day. This was an ideal way to kickstart our Osaka experience

Outstanding tour of Osaka with Hamed, the tour guide. My son was at the high school baseball tournament, so I decided to book the private tour to explore Osaka and I'm glad I did. Hamed provided me a comprehensive tour of most of the city. Hamed is a great communicator and has an engaging personality, so 3 hours with him was a learning experience on the history of many of the districts along with the back-story on each street toured. This tour was one of the highlights of my seven day vacation in Japan.

We met our guide Jenny and it was very easy and comfortable from the start. She showed us where certain shops were that suited our daughters quirky tastes. She showed us around the city, where to eat, shop and relax. It was a fun walking tour.
