Overview

Led by Andy, Scott or Tim, your experienced & fully bilingual guides, you will be offered an authentic foodie experience in the hidden gem of Shinsekai. With your guide who has lived in the area for years, the evening will be personable and veritable. Known as the “Kitchen of Japan”, Osaka is a city that is tailor-made for a memorable evening out for foodies. Mixed with history, culture and plenty of laughs, allow your guide to answer any questions you may have about this beautiful land. Weave through the arcades, side alleys and other places few others than the locals know, stopping at five unique eateries that have been visited countless times by our guides themselves. This tour will offer a variety of delicious street foods which will include takoyaki, karaage, kushikatsu, udon and oden among others. Not gourmet food, but authentic tasty dishes that will fill you up! You will also have the chance to sample some local drinks too, making your night an unforgettable experience!

    Time permitting, we will have a little jaunt around Shinsekai, an area often looked over but brimming with fun facts and things to see.

  • Tsutenkaku (Pass By)

    Walk past Tsutenkaku, the famous landmark tower that is the focal point of the area and see where kushikatsu all began. Walk through the streets that over a century ago, were designed to bring a western feeling to Osaka.

Excellent food tour in Osaka

This was our favorite tour for our entire time in Japan. The food is amazing! The tour guides were also incredibly entertaining. We would do this tour again when we are next in Osaka it was so great! This was an excellent value for the price.

Scott really knows his stuff. He’s a history nerd and speaks very fluent Japanese. He knows loads of cool facts about Osaka, the food, and Japan as a whole. The food we had was great! The chicken was my favourite for sure. Some great drinks along the way too. Give the hot sake a try ;-) Overall the whole tour was perfect. It wasn’t too long and we weren’t walking for too long between dishes. It’ll round off your evening very nicely indeed.

It was our first night in Osaka and we loved every bit of this food tour. Shout out to our guide Andy who made the evening super informative and fun. Andy caters to your food preferences and restrictions if you have any. We tried delicious foods at unique spots we never would've discovered on our own. I highly recommend.

Get closer to Osaka

We enjoyed our walking tour of Osaka with Scott very much. He was easy to talk to, knowledgeable from history all the way to Japanese cuisine and on to how to find the nearest good toilet. We started at the castle and covered the fishmarket, the techie - and the entertainment district. These would not normally be our main interests but Scott made it lively and interesting and we now feel closer to the "real" Japan. All sampled food and drinks were delicious! Something different and highly enjoyable!
