Located in Dotonbori, center of Osaka's Namba/Shinsaibashi district, this facility allows you to experience the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. A tea ceremony instructor will explain the culture and history of the tea ceremony and then make and drink tea for everyone. The teacher will teach you the culture, traditions, and etiquette of the tea ceremony, and you will watch the tea ceremony and enjoy matcha green tea and Japanese sweets. You can also make and drink your own matcha tea.

What an absolutely lovely experience! The address is a bit awkward but you need the building opposite the one with the giant crab, you will see some stairs on the bulding with the smiley sun with an A4 sign saying 'tea experience' and it's upstairs. The teacher was sooo lovely, we got to try some traditional sweets which was beautiful. Definitely a worthwhile experience to learn true Japanese culture!

Besides being taught about the history of the tea ceremony, we also got to experience making our very own green tea such as pouring the hot water and whisking it to form bubbles! A very exciting activity to include in your itinerary :)

Amazing insight into a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. We had other people in our group do a similar experience and they did not get anything as amazing as we did on this tour! Definitely worth the money!
