Overview

In order to feel like a true Portuguese, you have to experience the BEAUTY of our country, but also learn our oldest CRAFTS! This is a day where we'll not only tell you about, but also show you two of the crafts we have been the best at for centuries. Begin by making a stop at Christ The King, and enjoy the majestic religious structure, which was inspired by the Brazilian Christ the Redeemer. Enjoy a stroll on the Sesimbra castle, and take in the fresh air and views this castle has to offer! After lunch (at your own expense) in SetĂşbal, learn about the process we use to paint the incredible tiles you see everywhere in our architecture. Hear about the history of the craft and get a chance to paint a tile of your own! Also learn about Portuguese Wine manufacture in a guided visit and taste incredible wines! Visit the delicious AzeitĂŁo pies, our second best sweet, right after the famous Pastel de Nata, and learn about our pastry through tasting!

  • Santuario Nacional de Cristo Rei

    Inspired by the famous Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, this gigantic statue opens its arms on the south bank of the Tagus. The 28m-high Christ figure, mounted on an 82m-high pedestal, was built by Francisco Franco in 1949-59 at the request of Prime Minister Salazar.

    Classified as a National Monument on June 16th, 1910, Sesimbra Castle is the last of the Castles on the sea, which have been well preserved until today. Sesimbra Castle is the last of the Portuguese castles on the sea to maintain its medieval architecture. It was classified as a National Monument on June 16th, 1910 and gathers several reasons for interest. Its walls have a unique view over the town and the sea.

    After tasting the freshest seafood in our country (not included in the price but very cheap!), we head on to our Wine Cellar Visit. Learn about Portuguese Wine manufacture in this guided visit and taste 4 different incredible wines (that is optional).

A beautiful day spent in good company.

The tour started on time and the vehicle was comfortable. We made frequent rest stops. All my questions were answered and I enjoyed every part of the tour, from the spectacular views over Lisbon and along the coast, to the traditional cuttlefish lunch, and learning how those intricate and beautiful tiles are made, and visiting a very historic winery that makes exceptional fortified wine. And I mustn't forget the delicious local pastry. My guide Rui was very good company and taught me a lot about local history and culture. I had a wonderful time. Thank you, Rui, and I hope to see you again.

The trip is a wonderful way to experience and explore Portugal in a less touristic way and is absolutely worthy. Rui is a very professional, friendly and intelligent guide, he shows the beauty of his country with love. Nature is so beautiful, Sesimbra is a gem, the Tiles Company and the Winery are real pleasures. Food tasting is so delicious. Highly recommendable tour!
