Itinerary

You can enjoy the tea ceremony experience while wearing a kimono in this program. First, choose a kimono with your favorite color and pattern from the rich kimono collection in Nishijin, Kyoto. We will help you with your hair set before putting on your kimono. After that, you will have a simple photo shoot and then enjoy the tea ceremony experience with a master. Our tea room has been used for three generations. It is located near Daitokuji Temple, a place related to Japanese tea culture. It's a bit old, but we'll do our best to relieve your fatigue from your trip to Japan. First, a tea master who has studied tea ceremonies for 50 years will show you the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. After having a cup of tea with seasonal sweets, we will explain the historical background of the tea ceremony. Of course, in the end, you can experience making tea yourself. Why don't you share a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime time with the tea master?

Amazing experience. My friend and I went on our first day in Kyoto and thoroughly enjoyed it. We loved wearing the kimono and even got to make some tea ourselves. Highly recommend!

Must Book Tea Ceremony Experience

This was a really cool and unique experience. I went with my family and we got to learn so much about the intricacies of tea culture in Japan. The tour starts with dressing up in traditional kimonos followed by a photoshoot and finally the tea ceremony. The staff were also so kind and patient, the ceremony was beautiful and at the end they gave us time to practice giving the ceremony to our friends and family. I definitely learned a lot and would highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in learning more about tea culture in Japan or wanting a good bowl (or two) of high quality matcha.

What a great experience. We were a bit late and they accommodated us without missing a beat. We chose our kimonos and joined the rest of the group for an intimate lesson on the art of tea making. Very authentic feel.

We had such a great time at the Tea Ceremony. Everything from wearing the kimono, the ceremony itself and of course the tea master answering our questions was superb. The guide in particular did a great job of translating so we were always fully aware of what was going on. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Kyoto!

Absolutely Do It!!

An absolute MUST if you’re into Japanese tradition and culture! The ladies that helped us put on our kimonos and did our hair were absolute joys! Then to the tea room where we took several pics. Akido was our translator and he too was an absolute joy. Please ask questions! They will explain everything with pleasure. It is evident that they enjoy sharing their culture with visitors. We loved our experience and would do it again!
