    Spectacular views over one of the highest mountains on the Island.

  • Ribeiro Frio

    Laurelwoods and trout fish farm

    20 minutes

  • Santana

    Village famous for its typical triangular houses. Lunch break.

  • Miradouro da Portela

    One of the most stunning viewpoints of the North side of the Island, where you can see Porto da Cruz, Penha d'Águia and also part of Santana.

  • Ponta de Sao Lourenco

    It offers a privileged view of Ponta de São Lourenço, the north coast and the south coast of Madeira Island.

    15 minutes

  • Machico

    Machico is the oldest town on the island. A village known for its stunning natural beauty, is best described by its profound valley that elongates into a beautiful bay.

A great way to spend a day!

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the east. We did another Happy Tours tour a few years ago and we're a little underwhelmed (the guide just didn't seem at all engaged) so we're a little unsure whether to book this one or not... Anyway, we were looking for a day out and fancied seeing the traditional houses in Santana so took the plunge! Our guide Hugo was engaging and knowledgeable. The viewpoint at the Pico do Arieiro was just breathtaking and probably the highlight of the trip. The full day tour was well filled (didn't feel we were just hanging around for long periods) and the minibus smooth and comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Because the tours are in small vans/minibuses they can access areas the big coaches can’t and really personalise the itinerary to suit your requirements.
