For customers coming by car to Funchal from other parts of the island outside our pick-up areas (Funchal and Caniço) we recommend to park at Parque 2000 as it is the cheapest and most comfortable parking of Funchal center. We will pick you and drop you there.

    We will arrive at Pico Do Arieiro just before the sunrise so that you appreciate this unforgettable landscape at the beginning of your hike. It is popular for being the path in Madeira with the most breathtaking views because of the weather diversity along the hike. You will feel that you walk “above the clouds” and on the challenging path you will find a few tunnel-walks and the famous “stairs to heaven”.

  • Pico Ruivo

    Pico Ruivo, with 1862 meters of altitude is the highest mountain in Madeira Island, it is also the third highest mountain in all Portugal. To access the peak you must arrive walking. The absolute best way is from Pico do Arieiro (the 3rd highest mountain on the island with 1810 meters of altitude). From Pico Do Arieiro To Pico Ruivo To Achada Do Teixeira (11 km = 4:30 hours in total). Level: Medium-Hard.

Good shuttle service

Operator was responsive to questions and detailed with pickup instructions. The shuttle driver was prompt, friendly, and seemed genuinely excited to be there. Hike is straightforward enough a guided tour isn’t really needed so with the shuttle drivers guidance we felt more than comfortable with the trip on our own. Great way to experience the hike.

Great communication from the company from start to finish. As most of the PR1 trail is still closed, we were informed of the different options for the hike ahead of time. We chose to do part of PR1 that is accessible and the PR3 trail. Our driver, Michael, was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about the island and provided recommendations for trips, food etc. He gave us a really good talk on where the hikes were, best sunrise spot and where we were being picked up. The hike is still worth going to experience, even though part of it is closed. We were given plenty of time to complete both hikes. Highly recommend this company, they were great!

We appreciated the caring of Elisabeth…. Since the booking, she took care of us by sending us updates and important information! The hike PR1 was closed but the company came up with an alternative program either doing the open part of the hike or suggested an other hike. Driver was cautious and knowledgeable. Despite the crowd up there we found our spot. I can recommend the tour
