    Crestuma –Lever Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Douro. It is located in the municipality Vila Nova de Gaia, in Porto District, Portugal. Crestuma –Lever Dam is a 25.5 m tall (height above foundation).

  • Barragem do Carrapatelo

    Carrapatelo Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Douro, where the river forms the border line between the districts of Porto and Viseu. It is located in the municipalities of Marco de Canaveses, in Porto District, and Cinfães, Viseu District, Portugal. Construction of the dam began in 1964. The dam was completed in 1972.

    The Bagaúste Dam is located in the Douro hydrographic basin, on the Douro River, between the banks of the councils of Lamego and Peso da Régua in Portugal. Construction was completed in 1973. It has a height of 41 m above the foundation and a crown length of 350 m.

    You will disembark in Pinhão and will be transfer to a renown wine estate. Once you arrive, a visit a renown wine estate will take place, including wine tasting.

Would do the trip again

We have given the trip a five star rating even though the operator was unable to complete the trip due circumstances outside their control. The fires along the River Douro area were truly shocking and we sympathize with all those whose livelihoods have been affected by the fires. The food on board the boat was excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient, the boat had to turn around after half way due to the fires and the operator made a refund to compensate for this which we thought was very reasonable. We hope to return and do the trip again under different circumstances.

We had an amazing experience tasting the wines and learning about wine making. Our tour guide Cuber was knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. Lunch was also great though wish it had a salad option.

Absolutely Perfect Day in Douro Valley

Wow! What a great day in the Douro River Valley!! The tour included everything we could have imagined: a stop in the quaint village of Amarante, a tasting in the very beautiful winery of Casa dos Barros, followed by a yummy and filling lunch (complete with wines from the region) , then a leisurely cruise down the river & yet another tasting at the oldest winery in the region : Kopke, founded in the 1600s. Our guide -Isabel & our driver -Ingmar were both excellent!! I felt totally safe at all times with Ingmar behind the wheel (if you’re not used to mountain roads, the curves might give you a scare, but proper speed was always respected! If you want to see the beautiful Douro River valley & you want to learn and taste a few Portuguese ports & wines -DO THIS TOUR!!!

Great quality regarding wine tasting, lunch, and sailing. Antonio Leon Tiago was very knowledgeable and personable. The bus was very comfortable.
