Itinerary

  • White Mountains (Lefka Ori)

    Embark on an off-road adventure through a valley of orange trees, avocados, and gardens before climbing the White Mountains and exploring traditional Cretan villages. Enjoy a free coffee or mountain tea during a morning break in a serene village away from mass tourism. Travel off-road to the shepherd's hut "Mitato," at 1,350 meters altitude, offering breathtaking views of northern Crete and the chance to spot eagles and wild goats. Learn about the shepherd’s lifestyle and the famed Cretan “Graviera” cheese. On the return journey, savor panoramic views of Chania from above before reaching Therisso village. There, enjoy a hearty meal of Cretan cuisine at a traditional family tavern, complete with warm hospitality and local wine. Conclude the trip with a scenic drive through the Therisso Gorge back to Chania.

We had Olga as our driver, we were very lucky. Her smile and vivacious personality was as big as the Cretan sky. She was very inclusive and informative about the Cretan history and way of life, which is exactly what we wanted. I also like the way all drivers provided information at different stops. This is definitely demonstrates great teamwork. You can tell the team enjoy working, with each other.

Great day out in the 4x4 stopping off at various points of interest whilst climbing the mountain. Jason our driver was very safe, informative and good company. Lunch was delicious too.

Stunning scenery, coupled with Jason, our excellent driver and friendly, knowledgeable guide taking us through challenging terrain and giving unique insights into the ancient Cretan way of life, local history and culture up to the present day. A fabulous trip with many stops for photos including an excellent lunch at a mountain village taverna. Look no further, this excursion has it all including excellent value for money!
