Overview

Begin the trip to Aveiro, a city on the waterfront is considered the small Venice of Portugal. It is an important urban center, port, rail, university and tourist. The second city to visit is Coimbra, a Portuguese city located in central Portugal and the country's old capital, houses a preserved medieval old town and the historic University of Coimbra. We had a great tour to aveiro and Coimbra. We spent a fascinating day exploring the cities. Overall, our trip was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations. Gisela our tour guide was amazing!

Gisela, our guide, was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide/educator and driver. She made the tour a terrific introduction to the region, culture and history. Now we have to return to learn more. Highly Recommended!

Great Transfer and touring with Jose

Jose picked us up with a big smile, very comfortable Mercedes van and bottle water. First we stopped at Averio, a quaint city with a rich history of Art Nouveau buildings, canals and salt production. Jose knew exactly where to park, how to get a canal boat ride and where to buy beautiful hand painted ceramics ( not the factory production stuff). We then visited the seaside and ate at a lovely seafood restaurant. Our next stop was Coimbra, the oldest University in Portugal. The Library should not be missed. He then took us took to our Lisbon hotel and before he left carefully search his van where he found an item I had left and brought it back to me. Jose speaks English very well and has a great sense of humor, he was a delight to spend the day with. Highly recommend this service.
