Overview

Leaving from Porto, meet your tour guide at 08:30 a.m and travel to the beautiful Douro Valley in a comfortable climatized vehicle. After the first stretch of the journey you will be visiting a small family owned vineyard, with a wine tasting of their own production. Next enjoy a scenic drive through the world famous National Road 222, to the heart of the Douro Valley (Pinhão) where we will embark on the unique experience of doing a short 45 min cruise in the Douro River, to soak in the beautiful landscape while admiring the terraced hills with the quintessential vineyards and estates that turn the margins of the Douro River into one of the most unique in the world. Then, in order to complete this experience, enjoy a traditional lunch in a vineyard of a small-medium producer, finishing with a delicious port wine tasting, at their cellars. After a full day of exploration and discovery, relax and enjoy your journey back to Porto.

After the first winery, enjoy a scenic drive through the world famous National Road 222, to the heart of the Douro Valley, the beautifull village of Pinhão.

In Pinhão we will embark on the unique experience of doing a short 1 hour river cruise, to soak in the beautiful landscape while admiring the terraced hills with the quintessential vineyards and estates that turn the margins of the Douro River into a true "Geologic Poem"

Miradouro Torguiano De Sao Cristovao Do Douro (Pass By)

After the scenic cruise it´s time to drive up the hills, through the windy Douro roads and get on our way to Sabrosa, for lunch. It´s time to discover more of what the Douro Valley has to offer and to enjoy the breathtaking views from up the mountains.
Sabrosa

In Sabrosa we will stop at another family owned winery, where we will have a traditional portuguese lunch complete with 4 courses, entrance, salad, main dish and dessert, all paired with their delicious Douro red and white wine. For the grande finale we will visit their cellar where we will try some of their fantastic ports. After a full day of exploration and discovery, relax and enjoy your journey back to Porto.

Private option it's done in a private vehicle only with your private guide. The vineyards and rest of the locations are shared with other participants.
For lunch we provide meat, fish, vegan and vegetarian option.
Reschedulings with less than 24 hours before the start of the tour will be charged a 30% fee (subject to availability);
We do not recommend that you book or schedule different activities at the end of the tour. Although the tour may last 9/10 hours, the duration may vary depending on traffic conditions and other factors.
Please be aware that the activities which we visit, such as vineyards, restaurants, etc, are subject to 3rd party availability and other groups/participants may be with the your group during the experience.

Other than the weather, which is nobody’s fault, this was a completely fun tour. Well worth the money. I mean WELL worth the money. Our leader, João, was about as personable as anybody could be. The views were spectacular. The wines were amazingly good. Nobody was trying to pass off some crappy wine onto a bunch of silly tourists. These were actually wonderful wines. We had a nice intimate group because of the time that João put into that. I’ve got a lot of great stories, a lot of great pictures and tasted a lot of good wines. A+ day

Great Day Out in the Valley

We had a fantastic time on the tour with our guide Vitori. We booked the tour with a mini bus with 19 people on board but due to slow season a small 8 seater vehicle was sent. The vehicle was comfortable and communication with the team for kids car seat and meal were on WhatsApp. Vitori guided us through the beautiful Douro valley and provided us with a lot of local context. Our vegetarian pasta lunch was amazing and so were both the vine tasting sessions. Due to lot of turns on the way our 7 year old got motion sick and Vitori was kind enough to help and stop at couple of points on the way so that our kiddo could feel better. Overall, it was a great day out in the valley and I would recommend people to go for this amazing experience.
