Overview

Delight in views of idyllic villages on this 1-day tour from Kanazawa to World Heritage Shirakawago and Takayama. At Shirakawago, enjoy seeing the seasonal scenery of a quaint village of thatch-roofed houses, and at Takayama, take a walk around the old town where traditional Japanese-style townhouses and traces of the Edo period (1603-1868) still remain. Time will be allotted to explore Shirakawago, allowing customers to enjoy local cuisine, take photos, and spend time as they please. With a private vehicle used for transfers, enjoy efficiently visiting Shirakawago and Takayama in comfort. In addition, drop-off is available at Takayama Station, so those planning to go to Nagoya, Tokyo, or Kyoto after sightseeing in Takayama can feel free to participate.

    This is one of the thatch-roofed house villages, also registered as a World Heritage Site. Look around and be fascinated by the culture and history of the village. After visiting a thatch-roofed house, customers are free to stroll around. Meal is not included. Please enjoy the local cuisine on your own during this break. A shuttle bus (additional charges apply) runs to the Shirakawago observation deck. For those who would like to use this service, please pay at the location. Depending on weather conditions, shuttle bus operation may be suspended.

    This popular facility displays some of the colorfully decorated festival floats used in the famous Takayama Festival. Enjoy seeing the many intricately made floats.

Went on the 1-Day Shirakawago & Takayama Tour from Kanazawa with JTB and really enjoyed it. The places we visited were super scenic and full of charm—especially Shirakawago, which looked like something out of a postcard! Our guide, Jon-san, was fantastic. He was super friendly, patient, and knew so much about the areas we were visiting. He shared a lot of fun facts and made the trip really enjoyable. You could tell he really cared about making sure everyone had a good time. Overall, a smooth and fun day trip—would definitely recommend it if you're in Kanazawa and want to see a bit more of the countryside!
