  • Shirakawago

    Our English speaking driver will take you directly to the UNESCO village of Shirakawago, You will spend 2 and half hours here. Crossing the spectacular pedestrian bridge across the Sho river, your senses will be filled with the sounds and smells of authentic rural life. This fairy-tale village is bound to inspire you as one of Japans most picturesque sites.

  • Hida Furukawa Old Town

    Your group will then be whisked off to the canal lined streets of Hida-Furukawa. Your group will spend 1 hours here, exploring the town and taking in lunch. This once significant outpost during the Edo period is rich in architectural history. Famous for its timber craftsmanship and rowdy festivals this village is a rare gem among the towns and villages of this mountainous region.

  • Takayama

    Next stop is Takayama, you will spend 2 hours here exploring this beautifully preserved old town, famous in Japan for carpentry and Sake brewing. Takayama prospered during the Edo period and this is evident in its layout, beautiful buildings and cultural preservation.

Amazing places, amazing people.

Our guide, Yuta, was not only a knowledgeable guide, but an incredible host. He would stop to answer questions and kept the tour interesting with his own questions. These three destinations were incredible and well worth the day trip from Kanazawa. Both my wife and I highly recommend this tour!

Ian from Kanazawa Tours was an exceptional tour guide. My wife and I really enjoyed his professional and personal touch while taking us on a tour of the Samurai and Geshia District in Kanazawa. He also took us to Gyokuserin Maru Garden. We saw many interesting parts of the park and finished up our half day tour at a nice Tempura restaurant that Ian picked out for us! We highly recommend Ian to be a part of your guided tour experience while visiting Kansawa Japan. Thanks for a nice day Ian!

Yuca was an amazing guide , he was so informative and made us feel comfortable all the time , we had a 15 month baby with us and he was very patient and cordial ! He was a great driver as well !!!

Shirakawago is a must see

Yuka was a great driver and tour guide. The vehicle was spacious and we had reclining seats and foot rest. Due to the ship only being in port till 4:30pm we did not go to Takayama. Shirakawago is a must see. We spent a good portion of the day there. We had lunch in Hida Furukawa and walked the town and did two saki tastings. We learned alot and we beat the crowds.

Our tour guide Kumiko was absolutely wonderful, she drove us to to Shirakawa where we learned about and explored these interesting house construction in incredible surroundings. The second half of the day we went on a walking tour of Takayama, visited several shrines and tasted sake! Our guide went above and beyond to assure she answered all our questions, facilitated taking us to couple not in-route specific stores of my personal interests, and she even followed up with further information after the completion of our day. It has been a great experience!
