  • Michi-no-Eki - Shirakawago

    You can visit the Gassho Museum attached to the Shirakawa-go Roadside Station. Please take a look at the Gassho-style structure before going to Shirakawa-go. There are also many souvenirs for sale. Please note that the museum is closed from December 29th to January 1st, so you will have to stop by another place.

    The World Heritage site of Shirakawa-go is open for free exploration. Feel free to stroll around at your own pace and enjoy the countryside scenery at your leisure. A delicious lunch full of mountain delicacies is included. *The duration of your stay includes lunch time.

We organised tour. Excellent communication from tour guide. Comfortable transport. Delicious lunch. Plenty of time to walk around the attractions.

Navigation to the location of pickup was straightforward and we were in Shirakawa-go in an hour and a half. The views there breath taking (7th of April 2025). The guides informed us of points of interest and where to ideal locations for taking photos were as well. Post Shiraka-go we had lunch on location (which was included) before heading to Takayama. The tour guides informed us that the day we arrived was the first day that the shop which makes paper was using Kozo Bark (aka Mulberry wood). Overall very well worth the journey. Only issue was not enough time to do everything as we only had 2 (or so hours) in Shirakawa-go and about an 1 (or so) in Takayama.

It was beautiful to and interesting. They had the best fried tofu with veggies in it. I have never had tofu I liked before.

Meeting location description was easy to follow. The weather was not great as it was snowing and cold but the tour and guide were exactly what we wanted
