Overview

This Mayan Culture adventure will take us to the Ruins of Uxmal, this site has multiple structures that have been well preserved. You can even climb some structures. Our guide will take us back in history with a guided tour and then free time to keep exploring and taking photos Our next stop will be at the Kabah Ruins, our guide will teach us about the reasoning the Mayans had when they were building everything among other interesting facts. There is also free time and guided time! Now it's time to enjoy a 3 course meal at a Mexican restaurant! It's time to move on to the last stop To finish the adventure, we'll visit an Artisanal Mayan Chocolate Factory, here authentic mayan people will teach us the ways to create chocolate. There will be a tasting and also a Mayan Ceremony!

Tours from Merida convenient to visit major Maya sites

Great informative and organised tour from Altus tours of Mérida. Covered Uxmal and Kabal spend sufficient amount of time at both sites without being rushed. Good careful driver with Altus. Would definitely go with Altus again.

Best of the best. Really a magical day. Our guide Mauricio and driver Pablo were exemplary. Mauricio was one of the best bilingual guides we have encountered so far. He has a great sense of humor and he cares deeply about the Mayan history and culture.

Such a beautiful and magical place. I loved it more than Chichen Itza. The grounds were lovely and the ruins extensive. The guide gave very informative explanations.

Uxmal is breathtaking and well worth the trip! Would recommend a tour where they transport you to and from - there's a lot to do in that area and it would be difficult to navigate it all on your own. Kabah was also great, and more interactive than most historical sites. The chocolate museum was interesting - a bit kitschy, but the chocolate was delicious! This a fairly rigorous tour, we ended up walking a total of ~5 miles, definitely make sure you have sunscreen and bug spray and reapply throughout the trip. Our guides were excellent and well prepared for the day - we stopped at an Oxxo (convenience store) to get supplies (beverages, snacks) and they had a cooler for our beverages and chocolates purchased at the museum. Bring more water than you think you'll need, you'll thank yourself ok the drive home for having it available. The lunch was also good, and made even more satisfying by all the walking in the heat and humidity done prior.
