Deliciously Yucatán

Diego was an excellent guide, historian, and storyteller who led us through a gastronomical tour of Yucatán. He answered all our questions thoughtfully and provided answers we didn’t even know to ask for. He helped us gain a deeper understanding of Yucatán tastes that we couldn’t have achieved on our own. He provided an email with descriptions of all the things we tasted as well as a recipe book we can’t wait to try when we return home. Recommend!

A wonderful tour around a busy food market, tasting foods with a knowledgeable guide.

A memorable tour around a busy local food market with an excellent guide. Our guide, Gisell Chay, had a deep knowledge of food and an enthusiasm for local flavours and food pairing. We visited a range of food stalls for tasting food and drinks before visiting a small local restaurant for a main dish. The last stop was ice cream and sorbets with local flavours. After the tour we received an email with notes on what we had tasted along with some local recipes.

Great Experience for First Time Visitors

My husband and I booked this tour because it was our first time to Merida, and we don't speak Spanish. It was amazing! Going to the local market on our own would have been intimidating, but our guide, Luz, made the experience very comfortable. She was so knowledgeable and friendly, and we felt instantly at ease. The food we tried was incredible (and plentiful!). Come hungry. You will not be disappointed!

The food was absolutely over-the-top good, a mix of a few familiar things and a large number of wonderful things we've never had before. In addition, our guide, Gisele, made everything so very easy and clear, covering for where my very limited Spanish would not have gotten me by and explaining what everything we tasted was made of, how it was used, and all the information the wannabe chefs out there could really use.

It was a very nice trip with a lot of great food. Laura (our guide) explained a lot and knows a lot about the good en history of the city. It was a great experience. She was super thoughtful and took good care of us.
