Overview

Our friendly and professional staff cares -as much as operation allows- about divers' individual needs and preferences. We do not have a maximum diving time other than air consumption and no deco limit. Count on us to enjoy your experience to the fullest. Here in Mahahual/Costa Maya we have 5 different underwater landscapes and dive sites among 3 ranges of depths (most of them are between 45 to 90 feet). Diving conditions are friendly and we enjoy an average 90 feet visibility. All our dives are boat dives (time from the jetty: 10 to 15 minutes). Outside the gates of the cruise ship terminal, take a taxi (4 USD per pax, not included) to the Mar Adentro Dive Center, inside the Blue Kay Ecocabañas. The driver should take you to the Blue Kay parking area. Walk towards the sea front, the dive center on the right, close to the restaurant.

Itinerary

Two tanks dive into the beautiful Mahahual reef. All dives are boat dives, average distance: 15'. Max ratio DM 1:5. Depth according to certification level and experience. The surface interval at the beach. Dive equipment included.

We were staying near El Placer and did a 2 tank dive with Mar Adentro. The ocean conditions were a bit rough but once we were down there was up to 30 ft vis and no current. It was just my husband and I and our dive master Noah for the first dive. We saw a big turtle! The gear was good, we loaned equipment and had no issues with it. The boat is nice, and everyone was friendly. On the 2nd dive, a 3rd diver joined us. Unfortunately the vis decreased and he ended up losing the group. Our dive master did everything right, we looked around and didn't see him, did our safety stop, surfaced, and notified the captain. They found the 3rd diver when he surfaced and everything was OK. I would dive here again. We knew the conditions weren't going to be ideal for diving since there had been a front and lots of rain lately, we still had fun!

I’ve been using Mar Adentro Diving since 2021. The people have always been very professional and helpful. If you’re arriving via a cruise ship, like I do, it’s a short taxi ride to the dive shop. I have made multiple dives with these people and can highly recommend them.

Very cool seeing sea turtles on both dives. Viator did make a mistake in location though. The Address was for a different dive shop.

The team was amazing. Patrick was an awesome diver and guide that took the time to refresh me on some basics without making me feel bad for forgetting. He offered corrections and recommendations on areas I struggle with. Communication was no problem, the place was a simple but comfortable side shack connected to a restaurant with great food. I would 100% recommend this dive shop and would go back if the opportunity arises.
