Turin is famous for the chocolate and nuts, but there is so much more to discover! With our Turin Patisserie food tour you will learn about the ancient confectionery tradition of this magnificent city guided by a local expert who will tell you stories and curiosity behind the tastings. Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way of showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. This is the reason why we accept small groups only: we want to focus on a genuine exchange and give to each tourist the highest attention possible. Please, note that the tour is always run in English and Italian; other languages upon request.

  • Piazza San Carlo (Pass By)

    We’ll share with you the best dessert and pastries directly from the longstanding Turinese tradition and the polished historic cafes, contributing to the kingly atmosphere in the city. With our Historic Cafes and Confectioneries tour, you will taste the most representative patisseries, learn how they are prepared and spend a long breakfast (or afternoon break) in exclusive and relaxed environments.

  • Giardino Sambuy (Pass By)

    We start our food tour with the famous Gianduiotto: it is a chocolate born in 1852 in Turin, shaped as ingots and incredibly creamy.Gianduiotti are individually wrapped in gold tinfoil and created with a unique mixture of Piedmont hazelnut, cocoa and sugar.

  • Via Roma (Pass By)

    In the second stop, you will taste the Bicerin: It is a layered drink made of espresso, drinking chocolate, and whole milk (or heavy cream) served in a large glass. The beverage has been known since the 18th century and was also praised by Alexandre Dumas in his letters. Another tasting is the Marron glacé: it is a precious confection, originating in Piedmont and consisting of a chestnut candied in sugar syrup and glazed. They were invented shortly after the crusaders returned to Europe with sugar because chestnuts were a very available ingredient in the woods of Piedmont. Marron glaceés were the favourite dessert of the royal family!

    We go on with the typical Cremino. This is a chocolate originally from Piedmont, composed by three layers of chocolate, the outer ones are made with gianduia chocolate, while the inner one can be made with coffee, hazelnut paste, lemon and so much more. In the warm season, we will taste the actual artisan gelato covered in crunchy dark chocolate: Pinguino ice cream!

  • Palazzo Carignano (Pass By)

    At the end of the tour, you will try artisanal sliced chocolate, artisanal ice cream and an excellent espresso, the best way for concluding our journey into Turinese patisserie’s ancient tradition. We will have one in one of the oldest and most beautiful cafes in town.

Very good and inspiring tour, well structured and with a lot of chocolatetastes from different shops and producers - and not the least a very good guide in Caroline.

There were eight of us on this chocolate tasting tour and it was outstanding. Marta, the guide, was friendly, well informed, and most accommodating. We visited five chocolate shops that produced their own delicious products.

We had a terrific and delicious tour with Marta as our guide. We sampled handcrafted chocolates and cookies, got to have a specialty chocolate coffee drink, and a gelato. Marta gave us lots of information about the history of the chocolates and their makers and was a lot of fun as well. Highly recommend.

Anna was a wonderful guide and the tour was perfect. Only for people who love chocolate and like walking and learning history and enjoying a beautiful day in Italy. My only regret is that I didn’t want to buy anything because I was afraid it might melt and assumed that I would be able to purchase it someplace else, but I was wrong!

Marta was the most fantastic tour guide! It was only our group on the tour so we were able to have a very personalised experience and ask lots of questions. All of the stops on the tour were within a short walking distance and everything was delicious. Marta was very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable. I would highly recommend!
