We will visit a beautiful UNESCO site like the Sassi of Matera: SASSI represents an extraordinary urban ecosystem able to perpetuate the most distant prehistoric ways of the past to live in caves up to modernity. Known as "the Underground City", Matera is famous for being one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. On October 17, 2014, Matera was declared the European Capital of Culture for 2019.

Excellent and informative tour with Giorgio, felt like strolling with a friend through Matera. My daughter loved the Instagrammable locations on the tour. He gave us great tips where to eat and drink in Matera, as well as other places to visit on the Salento peninsula. We loved his tour so much we arranged another with Giorgio through Lecce. Highly recommended!!

Giorgio gave us a unique experience in Matera! Very far from the classical touristic guide: he brought us in the heart of Matera and showed some corners that I've never seen before. I went there with my wife and some friends from Mexico. They loved it! Highly recommended!!

Exploring Matera with guide Giorgio was everything I'd imagined and more. He first took me to the opposite side of the gorge so I could experience the full view of Matera. Wow, so incredible. Then as we wandered the ancient streets he explained in detail the history of the city as it progressed through the ages and how it came to be a World UNESCO site. Giorgio is a wealth of knowledge and guiding experience. We explored a churches, cave dwellings, underground cistern, and visited a pastry shop, and more. As we walked and talked, I imagined how it would have been to live in this unique place. During the tour we had time for a break from the hot sun in the shade to try a local snack of Cruschi, dried peppers. As a female solo traveler, I appreciated Giorgio's expert guidance through this amazing city. Definitely a great value.

We took a 3 hour tour of Matera with Giorgio. It was so informative, interesting and was the highlight of our Italy trip! Giorgio shared so much about this special town, its history and answered all our questions. He really customized the tour based on our interests. He even took us to a special gelato spot because it was a very hot day! I can’t say enough about Giorgio. His knowledge and passion are evident. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a small, intimate tour of Matera!
