Overview

It is 2 hour tour of history and interesting facts about the very special place in Florence - Santa Maria Novella church and square, which was the site of many celebrations and events in the past. It is the first great basilica in Florence, and is the Florence chief Dominican church. Inside the church we will discover unique art masterpieces: Crucifix by Brunelleschi, Fresco with Trinity by Masaccio, Crucifix by Giotto, Cappella Tornabuoni frescoed by Domenico del Ghirlandaio, Michelangelo's teacher and many more. Alex was an excellent guide. He took time to explain even the smallest detail and is clearly in love with the art and the history of the subject of this tour but also with Florence itself. Highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in art and Florence
