1. Castelo de Sao Jorge
You will sail overlooking the Castle of São Jorge and Lisbon's traditional Fado district, Alfama.
The first walls of the castle, which was rebuilt several times by different peoples and received different names, date from the 2nd century BC. .João I in the 14th century.
Alfama is the oldest and one of the most typical neighborhoods in the city of Lisbon. Currently, it covers part of the parish of Santa Maria Maior and another part of the parish of São Vicente. Its name derives from the Arabic al-hamma (الحمّة), which means 'source of warm waters, good waters'.
2. Praca do Comercio (Terreiro do Paco)
You will sail through Praça do Comércio (Terreiro do Paço) with a brief stop for photographs.
It is one of the largest squares in Europe, measuring around 36,000 m² (180m x 200m). The square is bordered by 79 arches.
It is considered a historic symbol of political power and manifestation of capital in Portugal. This symbology is generally associated with state centralism.
3. Ponte 25 de Abril
It will sail under the deck of the famous 25th of April bridge.
The 25 de Abril Bridge is a road-rail suspension bridge over the Tagus River that connects the city of Lisbon (north bank) to the city of Almada (south bank), in Portugal. The bridge crosses the Tagus estuary in the final and narrowest part — the so-called Tagus bottleneck.
4. Santuario Nacional de Cristo Rei
You will sail through the Cristo-Rei Sanctuary.
The National Sanctuary of Cristo Rei, Cristo Rei Sanctuary or, simply, Cristo Rei, is a sanctuary and religious monument dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus located in the parish of Pragal, in the municipality of Almada, in the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon, in Portugal.
5. MAAT - Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia
You will sail along the beautiful Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, MAAT, to take some fantastic pictures.
6. MAAT - Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia
You will sail along the beautiful Museum of Electricity.
The museum presents in its spaces, the past, present and future of Energies, in a concept of Museum of Science and Industrial Archaeology, where thematic and experimental exhibitions coexist side by side, with the most varied cultural and business events.
7. Padrao dos Descobrimentos
You will sail along the Padrão dos Descobrimentos.
In a prominent position on the right bank of the Tagus River, the original monument, in perishable materials, was erected in 1940 on the occasion of the Portuguese World Exhibition to honor the historical figures involved in the Portuguese Discoveries. The current replica, in concrete and stone, is later, having been inaugurated in 1960.
8. Torre de Belem
You will sail along the Belém Tower..
The monument stands out for its implicit nationalism, as it is completely surrounded by decorations of the Coat of Arms of Portugal, including inscriptions of crosses of the Order of Christ on the bastion windows; such characteristics refer mainly to the typical architecture of a time when the country was a global power (the beginning of the Modern Age).
