Overview

First of all, this tour is for people who would like to enjoy Sumo tournament fully and includes S-ranked 2nd-floor Sumo ticket, offering an exceptionally exclusive experience, typically reserved only for citizens of Japan. Through this tour, we walk around a city of Ryogoku, a sacred place for sumo, and will take you to several places where our guide give you cultural and historical tips to enjoy the Sumo tournament at last. We will start explaining with the basic rules of sumo and the relationship between Ryogoku and sumo. Afterwards, we will share more and more by walking through the town.

  • On the last day of Sumo tournament , because the S ranked seats (1~3 front row on the 2nd floor)were all full, so the ticket on this day in all A ranked seat, which are 4 - 6 front row seats on 2nd floor.
  • The guided tour lasts 1.5 hours and ends at 3 pm. However, sumo matches at Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Arena will be held until 6:00 p.m. The later the time, the more exciting the fight will be as the stronger wrestlers (Yokozuna, Ohzeki, and Sekiwake) fight later, so please use this information to help you plan your evening
  • Summer in Japan is very hot and humid, so we recommend that you bring water and wear a hat to prevent heat stroke.
  • On the last day of Sumo tournament , because the S ranked seats (1~3 front row on the 2nd floor)were all full, so the ticket on this day in all A ranked seat, which are 4 - 6 front row seats on 2nd floor.

Such a great tour and experience!

Such a great experience. We loved learning about the sumo and how the tournament works from Masao and he also gave us other tips for enjoying other parts of tokyo

Our guide did an amazing job and was very informative. The experience was great. Having the tour before the event really made a difference in understanding the history of sumo and the basic rules of the matches so we were able to enjoy the experience. The only thing that would have made it even better would be the email instructions could have been a little more detailed and thorough as to where we were supposed to meet. That waa confusing and we had to use Google translate to ask a lot of people around if they knew where we were supposed to go. Besides that, our guide in particular did an amazing job and I recommend the experience.

First Timer at a Sumo event. Definitely want to go again and learn more about it!

Oh man. Max was awesome. He took us to different points around the arena explaining the history of sumo, the workouts, the culture. Great knowledge to answer questions everyone may have. And he made sure we all knew exactly where to go to find our seats flawlessly.
