Tremezzina is one of the largest and most fascinating towns on the western branch of Lake Como. Rich in history, art and culture, it also offers some of the most evocative sceneries of the Lake Centre: the Comacina Island, the only island on Lake Como, the wooded promontory of Dosso del Lavedo with the marvellous villa of Balbianello, the medieval corner of Ossuccio, Sala Comacina and Lenno.
Visit on request. Villa del Balbianello is located on a wooded promontory, offering an enchanted view of Lake Como. This elegant, romantic 18th century mansion and its magnificent garden have hosted writers, scholars and travelers, including Count Guido Monzino, the last owner of the Villa. Closed on Monday and Thursday.

We pass through the mountain road to enjoy beautiful views on the Lake Como and the Alps. On request we can stop at Madonna del Ghisallo Sanctuary and Cycling Museum, located in Magreglio in the province of Como, on a hill which is very popular among bikers and has been home of many famous competitions.
On request you can enjoy a short walk along the Greenway of Lake Como, a short hyke with stunning views on the lake, the Isola Comacina and the mountain.

We used Giovanni’s services for (1) transfer from Malpensa airport to Como (2) tour Como (3) transfer from Como to Milan Central station. Communication was smooth all the way from queries prior to booking to post travel with Giovanni. It was most unfortunate for Giovanni and us that his car ended up in the workshop just the day before our tour of Como. Not to disappoint us, Giovanni rented a vehicle to continue with the tour of Lake Como and Bellagio. Giovanni was informative and travelling around with him was like enjoyable like touring with a friend. We had another tour of his tour booked to see St Moritz which had to sadly be cancelled because of his car issue. Giovanni gave us an alternative suggestion of touring Varenna on our own, which we did and had a nice day hiking there. Clearly a responsible guide, Giovanni also arranged for someone to transfer us to Milan Central station given his car was stuck in the workshop over the New Year holidays. Given Giovanni’s personalised service and great personality, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a private guide who is also a licensed private driver.
Lovely day at Lake Como

We spent a lovely day with Giovanni. He took very good care of our family and took us to many lovely viewing spots around. It was an uncharacteristically windy day and the ferry wasn’t working. Giovanni improvised and ensured that we didn’t miss out. We had informative and interesting commentary all through the day. We highly recommend this tour and Giovanni as a guide. Thank you Giovanni for the memorable experience.

We had a very pleasant experience with Giovanni! He is local to the Como region and an expert on all there is to see and do in the area. He is a fantastic guide and we felt very safe with his driving along narrow and winding mountain roads. We opted to take a tour of the different coasts along Lake Como and we boarded several car ferries which made it easy for us to hop from one coast to the next. You are able to customize the tour to your desires, so don’t hesitate to speak up and tell Giovanni what you want to see! Traveling with him is like having a historian, driver and companion all in one—you will learn more and see more with him than you could ever do on your own. Can’t recommend this tour enough—book it without hesitation! Grazie Giovanni!

Having traveled to Italy many times and using a private guide I can state that Giovanni the owner of Lake Como Private Tours is the best, most interesting, informative, and personable guide we have every used in Italy. We spent a day with Giovanni in a remarkable tour around Lake Como and a day in St Moritz. Having traveled extensively throughout the world and using private guide companies, Lake Como Private Tours in my opinion is in the top 1% of all private companies and Giovanni is a 5+ star guide. If you are interested in one of the best tours of the Lake Como region or the surrounding areas then Giovanni and his company is the only company to use.
